SOURCE: dryer still wont heat

you could remove and bench test the theromostat. my kenmore would not complete the circut to heat at all with a faulty thermostat. Just use a jumper wire to bypass it and test it THERE WILL BE NO SHUT OFF COULD HEAT UP TOO MUCH IF LEFT RUNNING.

SOURCE: No heat not drying clothes

for safety reasons it has its own fuse and that may be your issue (new fuse $5)
To be safe i'd also get new thermostat ($15)

SOURCE: gas dryer wont dry close

replace the gas valve coils. they sit right on top of the gas valve. they are black and round, and clide down over a shaft. remove screw from plate holding them, and slide them up and off, replace, and it will run....turn gas off while working on unit:)

Estate electric dryer

You will need to check the temperature coming out of the dryer when on high heat. It should read around 160 degrees on the high end, and 110 degrees on the low end. If it is cycling before the 155-160 degrees mark, you may have a bad cycling thermostat.
Here is the thermostat to order.
Here is a video to show you how to replace the thermostat.

Heating Element A defective heating element can make a dryer too hot. If the element partially shorts out, it can produce heat all the time, regardless of whether the dryer is calling for heat. Remove the heating element to inspect it. The coils should not be touching each other or anything else.

Heating Element Assembly A defective heating element assembly can make a dryer too hot. If the element partially shorts out, it can produce heat all the time, regardless of whether the dryer is calling for heat. Remove the heating element assembly to inspect it. The coils should not be touching each other or anything else.

Air Flow Problem Dryers need good ventilation to work properly. If the vent is clogged it can make the dryer too hot. Clean all of the vent tubing thoroughly.
Cycling Thermostat Although not common, a defective cycling thermostat can make the dryer too hot. The cycling thermostat is supposed to turn on and off the heat to maintain the proper temperature. If the thermostat is defective it may keep the heat on too long. The thermostat is not adjustable or repairable, it must be replaced.

Felt Seal Most dryers have a felt seal at the front and rear of the drum to keep the heat inside the drum. If the felt seal is worn away or missing, the dryer may keep heating and make the dryer too hot. This is not common.

Blower Wheel A defective blower wheel will not spin properly and will not vent the hot air, making the dryer too hot. Check to see if there is adequate airflow out of the dryer.

Model EED 4300TQO Dryer is cycling (turning) but has stopped heating.

Hi.

Start checking and eventually replacing the thermal fuse. That is the first part to replace when there is no heat. The fuse can be tested using a multimeter set on Ohms to make sure that its contacts are not open (impedance across its terminals is not Ohms infinity).

If the Fuse is not the problem test thermostats (there are three of them) and element itself. The parts have different impedance values. If any of the parts shows no continuity (circuit open), then the part must be replaced.

Does this model have two heating elements it get hot but not as hot as it should takes too long to dry cloths

An electric Estate dryer, manufactured by Whirlpool only has one heating element. If your dryer is STILL heating, but you are experiencing longer dry times and poor drying efficiency, the following link can give you some items to check before you assume there is a malfunction with your dryer:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3578821-dryer_takes_too_long_to_dry

The element should cycle on and off as the dryer cycle runs. If it is glowing steady and really bright, its a good sign that you may have a clog somewhere. The number one cause of dryer heat related problems is poor exhaust ventilation. If not vented properly, a dryer will not dry efficiently, will take longer than required to dry, and will cause the heating circuits to overheat to the point of failure. The dryer will actually seem hotter as the heating circuits begin to overheat. This is also the source of many fire hazards if not resolved. Read through the link provided and review some of the potential causes.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. Please include your MODEL NUMBER (if it is different from the one you listed this question under), so I can determine how your dryer is configured. I hope you find this information is helpful.

NOTE: If you thoroughly check everything and still have problems let me know. The problem could be related to a thermostat beginning to fail.
