Possible manual, free online, that shows phone number and blinking lights table. See page 30 and page 32.

Testimonial: "That ís nothing about blinking lights # 3+ # 4 in that table. But thanks for the info."
After a power surge it might be dead dead dead. However, if you can find its breaker in your breaker panel, cycle it to off for 60 seconds and turn it on again..... working?
Testimonial: "Unfortunately, this did not work"

1. Position vehicle within 10 feet of garage door- engine off and battery on.
2. Press/hold 2 outside buttons of Homelink
transceiver until red indicator starts flashing rapidly, then release
button. This should take about 20 seconds. This erases any previously
learned codes.
3. Press/hold remote control and press/hold button of Homelink transceiver simultaneously. Slowly move remote control from 5" away to 1" away from Homelink
transceiver. Release both buttons after red indicator starts blinking
rapidly. This should take about 5 seconds. I discovered that the Homelink in my TL is a bit faulty because it took much longer to accomplish this than when programming the Homelink in my MDX. My TL's Homelink
may "unlearn" it's code in the future and the needed proximity of the
TL to the garage door may be much closer than desired until I get the Homelink fixed.
4. Press training button on garage door opener unit until the indicator lights illuminates- this should be immediate.
5. Within 30 seconds press/hold the Homelink
button for 2-3 seconds until the red indicator starts flashing rapidly.
Repeat a second time. It should now be programmed. Check it by pressing
the programmed button on the Homelink receiver.
6. When programming more than 1 garage door opener unit, disconnect
power from unit before programming more units. By not doing this the
programmed unit could conflict with the unprogrammed units commands.
Problems:
1. The Battery in the garage door remote may be too weak to program Homelink.
However, the battery may be strong enough to operate the garage door.
One of my remote controls had a weak battery- my system was installed
today, fresh out of the box. I had to use the second remote control for
the programming of Homelink on my 2 vehicles.
2. Antenna on the garage door opener unit must be hanging down, fully extended.

there are three buttons on the opener.hold the 2 outside ones down for 25 to 30 seconds to erase the program. once the light (if equipped)flash rate changes, let go.
then push any one of the the three buttons and hold it in. and then push your remote. when the flash rate changes, the code is now in the homelink transmitter.the slt and slt plus had that feature.
Press the outer 2 buttons untill the bink rate changes then release.
Press the button you want to train at the same time you hold down an unused button on one of your factory GDO remotes, hold untill flash rate changes.
Press learn button on GDO, press the button you just programmed in the Tahoe, should be programmed.
(Info should be in users manual under HomeLink.)

how about a real answer......
1. Press and hold the two outer HomeLink buttons, and
release only when the indicator light begins to flash (after
20 seconds). Do not hold the buttons for longer than 30
seconds and do not repeat step one to program a second
and/or third hand-held transmitter to the remaining two
HomeLink buttons.
2. Position the end of your hand-held transmitter 1-3
inches (3-8 cm) away from the HomeLink buttons while
keeping the indicator light in view.
3. Simultaneously press and hold both the HomeLink
button that you want to train and the hand-held transmitter
buttons. Do not release the buttons until step 4
has been completed.
4. The HomeLink indicator light will flash slowly and
then rapidly after HomeLink successfully receives the
frequency signal from the hand-held transmitter. Release
both buttons after the indicator light changes from the
slow to the rapid flash.
5. Press and hold the just trained HomeLink button and
observe the indicator light. If the indicator light stays on
constantly, programming is complete and your device
should activate when the HomeLink button is pressed
and released.
The instructions in the owner's manual are correct, but after following them, my garage door installer and I discovered a few quirks and fixes for them.
It is important to park the Touareg in front of the garage door. Be careful not to park underneath it.
If your remote garage door transmitters are already programmed to your door opener, you need to do the following steps:
1. On the garage door opener itself, there is a learn button. Press and hold down the learn button until the learn indicator light goes out (approx. 6 seconds). (The learn button is near the antenna on your door opener.) By doing this, you have just reset the codes. At this point your remote door transmitters will most likely not work. This is o.k.
2. In the Touareg, press and hold whichever homelink button you want to program until the light above the homelink buttons slowly blinks. Continue to hold the button in and at the same time, hold your remote transmitter underneath the map lights and press the button. Continue to press both buttons until the homelink light rapidly flashes. Let go of both buttons.
3. You now have 30 seconds to press the learn button on your garage door opener. Press it once. The light will start to blink.
4. Go back to the Touareg, press and hold the homelink button you just programmed for 3 seconds until you get a blinking light. Repeat again. This time, it should open or close the door. The homelink button is now programmed.
5. Now that the homelink button is programmed, you now have to re-program your remote transmitters. Take the transmitters with you.
6. On the garage door opener, press the learn button, the light will blink. Now press the button on the remote transmitter. The light should stop blinking. Repeat the step if you have more than one transmitter. You should be all set. The homelink button should work in the Touareg and your remote transmitter(s) should also work.
In summary, the rolling codes in the door opener receiver have to be reset. For some reason, the Touareg has to be programmed FIRST. Then the remote transmitter units. If the remote transmitter units are already programmed, you will most likely not be able to program the homelink in the Touareg for a rolling code door opener.
