Unmark PTT id, in above condition your transmission is working good, you can check if you have other radio by listening your message.

Try pressing "rinse" + "pre-wash" buttons together for over 5 seconds. It will lock. Repeat again for 5 seconds, it will unlock.

By keeping the PTT button pushed, if you get a rapid beep and the red led is blinking, sounds like a bad battery. Batt voltage is a nominal 7.5v. anything lower than 6.25v and the low battery beep starts. A rapid beep, and no red led blinking, an error in the transmit freq.

Generally a crackling sound coming through a speaker indicated the speaker is damaged (or blown). This can happen due to phyical damage such as dropping; old age' or running the device at full volume most of the time. The T5000 is a non-repairable radio. If less than one year old you may be able to get it replaced under warrranty. If more than one year old, you will need to replace the unit.

Try this.
Go to PROFILES.
Select ADVANCED.
Select (ie) NORMAL.
Scroll to SMS TEXT and depress the pearl ball.
Select OUT OF HOLSTER and set to TONE.
Select RING TONE and select the tone you want.
Select VOLUME and set to your preference.
You might want to do the same for IN HOLSTER.

Yeah, alternatively you can just connect to the controller directly with the wire (not through the grey connector that comes with the headset)
