Won't power up-flash of light on bottom screen then nothing
My son's DS started acting up yesterday. When you try to turn on the power, a bright white light flashes across the bottom screen only & then there is nothing. We replaced the battery & charged it all night, but it is still doing the same thing. He is very upset. Any help you could give would be most appreciated! Thanks.
Re: Won't power up-flash of light on bottom screen then...
If yr DS is less than one year old, call nintendo and ask for an advanced replacement.... they are good about it and will explain the whole process to you....the number is 1.800.255.3700.... i think it is option three for DS problems, then zero, and the will set it up.... ive had it done like three times....

Sounds like you need to send it in for repair. I had sent my console to VideoGame911.com and they repaired mine at a great cost and got it back at the end of the week. Give them a try, they are cheaper than a manufacturer. Good luck!
Turn off the Nintendo DS, and place it on the charger. Leave
the device for 45 minutes to allow it to gain a full charge, and then
power it back on. Weak Nintendo ds lite batteries may cause screen flicker.
Turn off the DS, and remove all game cartridges. Turn the system back on to launch the main menu.
Click the small sun icon to open the brightness menu. Adjust
the brightness level using your stylus. Turn it up to max to improve
Check that the Nintendo DS is open and in the locked position. It must be open to its default position to operate properly.
Hello there! First of all let me tell you that your nintendo ds can be repaired and it is not trash... what you need is to get the bottom screen to be repaired ....you can do it sending it to the nintendo repair shop or by doing it yourself by following this youtube guide http://www.youtube.com/user/nintendorepair.
yes it is fixable sounds like your fault is with the top screen are the hinges ok has it been dropped.
most green light and screen flashes point to a defective screen or connection on the mother board or sometimes fuses. id start with checking the motherboard connection if its ok check the fuses if all is ok buy a new top screen and replace it.
When you boot the Nintendo DS you can change the illumination settings in the main menu. One the main menu, you will find a sunny symbol in the lower left corner of the screen. Click on that and you should be able to change the level of illumination. If you are also wondering if you can change the brightness during game play, you can't. Games such as Mario 64 DS come with support for brightness change but otherwise you have to do it before game play.
