Xerox 7665 Colour Multifunction Printer. I am curious if anyone can help with how to reset a black toner chip on a Xerox 7665

Question edited for clarity.

It depends on why you want to reset it? The places that refill toner cartridges can do it. If you have a Xerox contract for consumables, and you are using a non Xerox supplied cartridge, it may not be so easy as it may be looking for your contract number.

How do I dismantle the base unit from the xerox workcenter 7655

Look inside the left hand side door ( stacker unit)
the unit is locked onto the side panel with a sliding bracket. Look for a thumb metal bracket and push it to release the stacker unit.
normally these units aspire very reliable. Undo the unit and the interconnections then slide apart.

Try changin the usb connector of the cable that goes from the screen to the rear left of the machine. There are 4 connectors there.

Why this message appears Firewire communication failure?

Perhaps one of the connects on the cable came free? someone did cut the cable? The Firewire controller in the Workcentre or in the computer is faulty?
Lots of things you should try, by exchanging the things I mentioned.

Our xerox workcenter 7235 fault code 024-360 and copy service is disabled

024 360 An error has been detected by the Controller during communications with the Printer. User intervention is required to Power Off/Power On the machine, Field Service is required if the problem persists. Printing is disabled.

You will have to either get this printer repaired or replace it.

Hi i have a 7665 i got recently got a new controller for this machine, after installation it displayed the error message host to host usb communication failure, i have checked the usb cable and its all...

That usually means the cable itself is bad. I have seen that often, Mostly the firewire cable fails.

There are more than one driver on the xerox.com site for that machine, Try a PCL driver or if you are using pcl try the PS, If you have done that, call xerox and ask for second level support and report the problem. They would most likely know by now and could offer the solution.
Sounds like a driver screw up.

This was an issue with earlier models and is usually attributed to the "USB" connector on the bottom of the control panel not being attched securely. Note: although the connector is USB, it is NOT hot swappable and will crash the machine if unplugged while the power is on.

Power off the machine. Ensure the cable is securely attached and restart the 7665. Make sure when you turn it off that it is completely off before restarting or you could corrupt the system software.

Problem betwen firewire pwbs. Unplug and an plug firmly the firewire cable. Then turn on the machinne. If not change the problem you have to reload software.
1. Controller firewire pwb
2. ESS firewire pwb
3 Firewire cable
4 Bad sector on your disk drive
5 Reload software
