Go to d.menu on your remote, scroll down to the second icon (the satellite dish) and press auto store. It'll scan for any freeview channels available

SOURCE: I bought an Alba CDVB4 and the remote isn't right
Hi
Not sure if you found the problem for this, but I had the same problem and couldn't find any reference to this except your question so thought I would put up an answer in case it can help you or anyone else.
Aparently, Alba have got hold of the codes that Toshiba use for their remote controls, so if you have a Toshiba telly an Alba product like this won't work. The only solution being to return it and get a different make.
I returned mine twice for a straight exchange thinking it was just a manufacture fault before I found this out. I then exchanged it for a Bush set top box - only a fiver more - and it now works PERFECT!
I hope this helps some.
