I need help to be able to diagnose the problem of my car. The Opel Vectra car stops in motion and I have to put fuel in the carburator before it will start working again. Sometimes, when I have to park and start the car with intervals of between 5-20mins; after moving a little distance, the engine will just go off and won't start normally until I put fuel in the carburator. Pls help. Segun
Clean the carb, change the fuel filter. last resort, have the fuel pump checked to ensure proper pressure. on your carb, if you clean it yourself, be sure to clean the jets with a thin piece of wire to dislodge the stuck on varnish that develops. carb cleaner wont get it all out of there.

Re: Stops in Motion
You have posted to the wrong section, This section is for electronics. However it sounds like you may have a fuel line problem, or a problem with your carburetor. If you have a background in auto mechanics you might try to clean your fuel line and filter by replacing the filter and blowing out the fuel line. You may also want to have the carburetor cleaned, if you can do this yourself great, but if you can't I would suggest that you take it to a repair shop to have this done.
In the past on my old ford E250 panel truck, I had the same problem and having the carburetor cleaned did the trick.

With the wheel on you will have a 3 pronged washer, make sure that the screw on the stop motion wheel is unscrewed all the way, put the stop motion wheel back on ans tighten it hand tight only, tighten the screw in the stop motion and see if the stop motion frees off and then tightens again so the machine will work, if it does not take the stop motion wheel of again and move the 3 pronged washer in a different position and put the stop motion wheel back on again
could be the light control switch they do do this when they fail. if you pull it out. the lights should go off. its held in place with 2 clips you need to put a flat blade in the sides of the black square part and wiggle the switch out. replace the hole switch...this box controls the lighting. fogs side lights main beam control and dash lights.
Ok..for starters have you checked to make sure your getting fire to the plugs? Need to pull a plug wire off and check to make sure. If your getting fire then your problem lies in the fuel delivery system...if not then it would be in the ignition system...have you checked ALL of your fuses? Make sure that your fuel filter isn't plugged, and on the fuel rail you'll find a small port with schrader valve (similar to that on the tire)..you can turn the key to the run position and then push in on valve to see if your getting fuel to the rail..once you narrow it down to fuel delivery or ignition problems we can further narrow it down.
very difficult to advise without heariing the noise ,opel vectra (vauxhall) nice motors these ,if noise stops in 5th then it could be the gearbox like the layshaft needle bearings caused by low or no oil in the gearbox ,remember 5th gear doesnt use the layshaft its on the end of the mainshaft behind the cover next to the wheel arch
Make sure the stop motion wheel is tight, if it will not tighten you will need to undo the stop motion wheel, undo the screw that is in the stop motion wheel, unscrew the stop motion wheel all the way off and you will see a three pronged washer, take the washer off and put it in a different position, put the stop motion wheel back on and tighten to finger tight, screw the screw back up in the stop motion wheel, a final turn one the the stop motion wheel to tighten then test, if it does not work put the three pronged washer in a different position even upside dowm.
A Opel is a GMC but its a good German car But the problem could be one of a few.
To start with Check the breather pipe on the fuel tank to make sure the air gets in to the tank while you are taken out petrol... It could be the coils getting hot and braking down..I could also be fuel pump in the fuel tank playing up and not pumping the correct pressure for injectors.
BUT the noise what does it sound like i must no
to help more so check above and let me know
Dude, of course it stops during the night - it's a perpetual motion / kinetic watch. It doesn't have a conventional battery. When you move your arm (while wearing it), the natural motion of your arm will 'automagically' wind the watch. There's nothing wrong with it - these types of watches always have to be re-set in the morning if you don't wear it to bed (or you don't toss and turn in bed).
