HELLO- Very possible that there can be dirt or solder inside, hard to determine without looking inside at the sealing points of the vavle itself. Try to determine if it is the hot or the cold side,also look at were the valve seals off ,could be small imperfection in the seal ! Good luck
If you pull the silver knob on the tub spout up, the diverter located located inside will redirect water up to the shower head and when lowered it will return the water to the tub spout. It sounds as thought the diverter is not working properly. Hope this helps..

The hole under the seal and spring for the cold side is plugged with dirt....
a small screw driver will sometimes do the trick, and sometimes you need to unhook the piping underneath and blow air back through it...
maby there is dirt traped behind the showers lock rubber. bt it sounds to me like it is the lock rubber(close) rubber that has parished. replasing the rubber should fix it
assuming that u have electronics knowledge.so there r basic 4 pins are require to make ccfl circuit working.
1. power supply 10 to 18 depends upon circuit.
2. ground.
3. ccfl circuit on off.
4. bright ness.
to identify them. power supply wire is easily identified by checking voltage.
ground wire u may ceck by continuty from ground.
rest wire u may test by try basis one by one. there will not any fault for doing so.
