SOURCE: need instalation instructions

Usually the speaker setup is easy, connecting with the manual all the respective cables, and the black , green, orange, to the back out to the Sound card. if you have of course I presume a 5.1 sound card. if not, just use the green cable to the green on the sound card, and black according.
you have to connect the SUB alone and send the green and black signals to the port on the sound card.
good luck

SOURCE: How to disassemble Logitech Z-340 sub-woofer

The speaker bezel can be removed in only two ways:

1) Somehow remove the grille in order to get a the screws which hold the bezel onto the cabinet. I tried to do this and couldn't get it to budge. Once I got the thing open I observed that Logitech used a LOT of glue to hold this thing together.

2) Drill holes THROUGH the grill above each of the 8 screws large enough so you can loosen the screws.

Once you get it open, you'll be shocked to discover what you thought was the subwoofer cone is actually A ROUND PIECE OF CARDBOARD fastened to the foam. The 4" driver is behind this fastened to a board halfway back pointing into the chamber containing the electronics.

You can get to the power transformer, but good luck removing it. The screws are nearly impossible to unfasten; more glue but more importantly incredibly awful access to the nut and screw (yes, a screw, not a bolt).

I wouldn't pay 5 bucks for this system. Luckily, I didn't.

SOURCE: Can I use my Logitech x-230 speakers without the sub-woofer? My sub-woofer got busted!! Any suggestions?Perfectly good speakers!

i had the same problem with same speaker system. the amp for this system is inside the bass speaker. if your amp is still working but your bass speaker is not you could cut the wires to that speaker making sure the cut wires do not short out. i was quoted more to repair them than it was to buy a new set. but i wont be buying logitech again as ive had two lots fail.

SOURCE: do i have to have the sub-woofer in order for my logitech X-230 speakers to work with my computer?

Certainly any large speaker itself cant be used with
very weak computer out signal
The signal should have power amplification in addition to
voltage amplification to energise large speakers

Is it possible to connect only my Logitech X230 Subwoofer to another speaker system which has a subwoofer out as a 3.5 mm jack? Edifier R1850DB is the speaker set which I'm gonna use for that.

No because the Line OUT to the Sub, won't accept a 3.5mm jack. Logitech audio will only work as one unit, you can't mix and match. They usually make it impossible to get inside them.

Hey Jaime,
Unfortunately, Dell does not have any available schematics for wiring the x230 speakers available. You would have to maybe contact Logitech.

Where can i purchase the audio cables that connect the Logitech X 230 sub woofer to my laptop and mp3 player

Usually you can purchase audio cables for speakers and sub-woofers from any or authorized PC outlets.
Just explain to the dealership what you want to connect it to and they will shoe you the right "jack" to buy.

Only have the sub itself, Can I still use it and if so how?

Unfortunately you will not be able to use the sub-woofer by itself because the input for the Logitech X-530 has a special cable to connect to the sub-woofer. You could always try looking on eBay or Craigslist for replacement parts.

The model #under my speakers is X230-07 but a picture of these say they

Hi Arty, if you have a nice sound card, like Creative Live, or Audigy, or Sound blaster X-fi, use your cables that came with the x-530 depending on the cables provide, the cables are well identifid by colors, put in the same way in your computer, and of course, you need to make adjustment on control panel, in sound setting to use 5.1 computers, this may do the trick
