It's likely that the voltage supplied to the bulb is a bit high which will make the light a bit brighter but burn out more quickly.
You might find that a LED bulb lasts longer. They are usually more tolerant of voltage variations.
Some LED replacement lights are better than others so try to get one that others recommend if possible, or maybe convert a 12v house lighting LED to connect to the unit.
You probably need a "rough service" bulb because the opener vibrates and shakes. Here is one on Amazon, but you might be able to find one at a hardware store.

SOURCE: My light bulbs keep burning out prematurely on my garage door opener.
I tried a REVEAL(brand) 40 WATT DOUBLE LIFE CEILING FAN LIGHT BULB , and almost two months later it still works. It is sold at Home Depot in Illinois. The filament is much thicker than any of the other heavy-duty bulbs I have tried, and that seems to be the difference. The REVEAL bulb is the only one I have tried that has lasted this long.

Try REVEAL brand DOUBLE LIFE ceiling fan light bulbs, available from HOME DEPOT. The filament in those bulbs is much thicker than any others, and the one I installed on my own Sears GDO has lasted 3 months so far, compared to one week for others I have tried.

Unplug the unit from the power and take a screwdriver and pull out on the center contact of the socket.

Get an electrician to measure voltage where the light is plugged in. It sounds like you have too high a voltage.

You can replace the socket itself. Unless there is extreme vibration this will be your best bet. If there is vibration then use some rubber washers to lessen this. You can get replacement parts at chamberlain.com. Thanks BB
