SOURCE: ice build up in back section of a Whirlpool no frost top freezer refrigerator 66"hx30"wx27"d

your sure the defrost cycle works? sounds to me its not. you need to remove the freezer back and check the defrost components. or put it in the defrost cycle and see if it is working. to get that much frost as you describe the dor would have to be left open. also check all door seals. let me know what you find and we can go from there

SOURCE: Model is GSS25WGMD WW No cooling in freezer or refrigerator

look for ice or forst build up on the rear wall of freezer compartment, sounds like you may have a defrost problem. this will affect temps in freezer and refrig. the most common def problems for GE are bad defrost heaters. these are model specific and fairly easy to replace your self. i got this part number form Sears.com WR51X10055 good luck peyton

SOURCE: Warm Fridge Section, Cool freezer section

Problem seems to be solved. I unplugged it for a short time and plugged it back in. I'm guessing it needed to be re-set.

SOURCE: Does not cool. Compressor is running, fans are

Hi, Look in the freezer section and see if there is frost building up on the rear inside panel. If the is frost, on of three parts are bad in the automatic defrost.
If there is no frost, the compressor might be weak and not pumping the coolant as strong as it should.
Remove the rear inside panel in the freezer sevtion and see if the evaporator is frosting at all.
Please let me know what you find so I can assist you further with this issue.

My bottom mount french door refrigerator, the upper part does not cold, it's warm

Hi,
Sorry your having trouble so soon!
First thing you need to check is inside the freezer section.
The freezer fan, the fan is W10128551 and should be running
along with the main compressor. Since the freezer is working,
I would check the food on the top drawer or on the freezer door shelf.
They too might be soft..without the fan.
I would You tube 'evaporator fan motor replacement Amana bottom freezer model' Yes I know it say's Whirlpool, but your unit is really
a Amana designed unit. I would give this a difficulty of 3 out 5 wrenches.. Take your time..

We are unable to keep the freezer degree at 0. It goes up to 38 degrees and my food is ruined. It has occured 2x this week. What do I do? Does the computer need to be replaced?

Hi,
Is the fan running in the freezer? I have seen and heard of this happening, I have change the control board and did not fix the problem, I found the problem in the harness connection behind the evaporator fan motor, its a 9 to 12 pin connection. One of the pins have slide out of the molex and causes the fan not to run when needed. This will also causes the refrigerator section to rise in temperature and can cause food spoiling. When you fan is effected in the freezer, the top section of the freezer will be warmer than the bottom section because of the cool air drops, heat rises. Without the fan running, both sections will be effected. Check the harness connection I noted above, push every wire inward toward the connections itself, if the fan comes on, you found the problem.
Good Luck, if this fails to work for you, you will need to call your servicer to check over the electrical system for you.

My freezer is working fine, but my refrigerator is barely cool and both units are controlled by the same setting knob. This just happened all of a sudden. Everything in the refrig is spoiling.

It the fan blowing up in the freezer and no cool air is coming down to the fresh food section then I have seen this before. The drain for defrost is clogged. Instead of draining out it is pooling up between the freezer and fresh food side. You gotta thaw out the ice box and open the drain. Nothing to buy. Oil the fan motor with zoomspout oiler.

Whirlpool refrigerator model#WRT-75680. Have

Assuming the freezer is adequately cool, it sounds like the freezer fan is not running. This fan transfers chilled air to the refrigerator section. The fan should be located behind an access plate in the freezer. If it's running, you should be able to hear it. If you can't hear it, remove the access plate and look at it. If it's not turning, you will need to replace the fan motor.

Whirlpool Refrigerator fresh food section cool but not cold (freezer ok).

The most likely problem is in the defrost system. Behind the freezer panel there is not only an evaporator fan, but also the evaporator itself, and a defrost heater, termination bi-metal, and drain pan (or trough). You will likely find ice build-up in the evap coil. This could be caused by the defrost timer, the heater, or the termination bi-metal.
Have a service tech look at the unit.

Foul odor coming from freezer. Kenmore model w/ freezer on top.

Clean the refrigerator thoroughly fresh food and freezer under all drawers. Then place charcoal briquettes in each 8 or 10 total. 4 or 5 in the bottom of the fresh food section. leave the for several days. If that doesnt take away the smell consider if a mouse may have gotten into a fan blade and well that can create a really bad smell.
