Hi, my 20 in lasko wind tunnel fan is on the blink again.A few months ago I cleaned it & it wouldnt turn back on, finally after days of trying everything & even trying to reason with the thing-out of the blue plugged it in & it came on. GENTLY cleaned it a couple months later-same result. Last week I brought it into another room & have yet to get it to turn back on. Nothing, not a hum, nothing.Someone please help me, I'm recently widowed & it seems like everything I have I is falling apart & am not able to go out & purchase a new one. Thanks everyone, Candi aka/Sweating in N.C.

Unfortunately, it could be a number of things. I assume you have tried something else in the same power point to see that power is there? If the unit is dead, it could be a safety device has tripped out. Check if there is a reset button or similar on the fan. If not, the fan will need to be taken apart to find out what it is. There may be a broken cable or loose wire.

SOURCE: riding mower problem

What is the name brand and model? On most riding mowers there are several switches that must be actuated before it will start. First, make sure that blades are disengaged. If there is a handle that engages and disengages them, you might try holding it in the dis-engage position in case the switch is out of adjustment. There is probably one under the seat also. This switch kills everything if you are not sitting in the seat for safety reasons. Also, make sure the parking brake is set, and the gear is in neutral, and not forward or reverse. Also, you should check the battery. It is possible that you left the key on by mistake and drained it.

Hope some of this helps.

How To Clean

On the back of the fan there are 6 recessed phillips head screws around the circumfrence of the fan. You must use a longer screwdriver as the screws are set in a couple of inches.

The two screws on the bottom are a little harder to see.

There are also two clips on the sides front cover. Squeeze on the sides gently to release these.

Fan seems to go and stop and then go again is this normal o

I have one of these. It sounds like you have it on breeze (the 3 wavy lines on the remote) Push that button, then push the run button(first button on the right bottom) for it to run normally. The circle with the blades in the middle(left button on bottom row) will turn the fan from low (1) to (3) high. The icons are the same on the remote and the fan itself. Hope this helps.
