SOURCE: juts got the watch, wound it, worked then stoped, wound dead

These watches are self winding (mechanical spring), so need to be worn (or gently oscillated) to wind them up.

The catalogue for this watch says it should run for 72 hours when fully wound.

Depending on when the watch was made, it could be that it needs a clean.

Try wearing it for a few days to see if it keeps going.

From your description the solar cell charges the battery and keeps it topped up. I think the rechargeable battery is the problem because when the screen goes blank the battery level drops to low and the LCD blanks out which would explain the intermittent operation of the watch. I think it is worth getting it checked out with an estimate.

Pocket watch hands try to move but just can,t

Hi.

Pull the hand adjust out and move the hands back and forward to make it hasn't seized up, also try another battery just in case the other one is not fully charged up.

Regards.

It is unlikely that the capacitor will have any charge on it so you should shake it gently to charge it up. You certainly can't do any harm by charging it, even if the capacitor did have any charge.

I bought the G by Guess watch G99005G1 and it won't start. It's brand new, never used out of the box. How do I get it to start?

The watch should be working when you take it out of the box, unless there is something stated in your owners manual. The battery is probably flat or there is an other issue, either way the watch should be returned for exchange.

You can get instructions from the Timex web site "timex.com".

At the bottom of the screen click on "manuals/downloads", then on "product
manual download"

Enter your watch type in the search box and click on "search"

It' just out of the box new and the second hand jumps about 4 seconds at the time. How do I get it to not do that.

You can not do anything. At the point of sale your watch is brand new, but the battery was fitted when it left the manufacturer. So, put the new battery in and you will be sorted.

My watch was on when i opened the box, but i hit a few buttons on the side and the screen went blank. trying to turn it on, but don't know how. does it need charging or something? confused.

Most likely you jostled the battery loose or the battery coincidentally ran out.
Take it to a repair shop to get a new battery. If you want to try and do it yourself, you can. But be prepared -- there are lots of small parts and small screws you may have to deal with.

Internal battery seems to have no power

Battery in your watch is called ''CAPACITOR'' and it gets charged by light. The best source, of course, is sunlight and the worst is ordinary lamp.
By placing your watch for a few hours in a sunny window should keep your watch going for about 5 - 7 days.
As this is not happening, you need to replace capacitor. After doing that your watch will keep working and charging as brand new.
Capacitor replacement is not complicated job and any decent watchmaker can do it for you.
Do not forget to rate, please.

Invicta Speedway 9223 not keeping time

It sounds to me as it is a quartz chronograph and it is right that the centre seconds hand moves only if the pushbutton is pressed. If you look close enough, you will notice that the small subdial finger is ticking and counting seconds. It is recommended to replace battery, as sometimes watches been laying in stores for a few years before selling and the battery is flat or underpowered.

A "non" fully charged watch will sometimes "jump" seconds rather than indicate one second intervals. Charging these small solar panel watches takes forever, in BRIGHT sun. Have you tried leaving it outside, in the sunlight, for at least 12 hours?
