The Wolverine is a high-speed drive, so try also connecting it to an externally powered "dumb" USB hub. HS spindles may require a slightly higher current and the USB port may not supply it properly.

I have not been able to find the Wolverine's internal HD specs, but the device was reviewed in 2003 and at that date most 2.5" disks were EIDE. While some EIDE drives did have a limitation of 137 Gb of addressable space, this was mostly solved even in embedded chipsets (such as Cypress) by 2003.

So, my guess is that with all probability you can place any EIDE 2.5" drive in the enclosure; if I'm wrong (I think not), the drive will still work and you'll have to repartition it, to only access its first 137 Gb.

Let me know how it goes.

Not enougn power

The limitation is actually imposed by the circuitry of the PC as supplied to the individual USB ports.  What you probably need is an externally powered USB HUB.  You will have to determine how much current your drive draws. An example of a max 1 Amp @ 2X500ma/Port is "7-port USB 2.0 hub" [AP-HUB207]. You can check out the specs here >

Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
