Question about Hoover Dryers

1 Answer

Hi. I have a Hoover Dynamic Next tumble dryer that’s roughly 4 years old. When trying to dry using any cycle it’s starts drying but within a few minutes beeps repeatedly and then stops drying. When I then press the start button to get it going again it doesn’t come on. I have to unplug and replay in to potentially get it going again. Help

It may be overheating. Clean exhaust duct and clean lint from filter and from around the motor.

I think you may have a bad relay on the motor, where power is re-applied after the push start is released

SOURCE: Maytag MDG7600AW Gas Dryer heat starts and then stops

Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.

This link, http://www.repairclinic.com/SmartSearch/SmartSearch.aspx, provides exploded view imagery, belt routing diagrams, parts imagery and function, parts ordering and shipping information, error code details, just about anything you need to get your appliance up and running again. Just follow the links to navigate through the site.

You will need to enter the model number stamped on the manufacturers product information data tag, located on the unit, and not in the User’s Manual. to access your product information.

Here are some common solutions to help resolve the issue with your appliance. Clicking on the underlined links will take you directly to that page.

If your dryer doesn't heat properly, check this: Venting restriction: Disconnect the dryer temporarily from the vent. If the flame stays on for a longer period, you may have an air flow obstruction to the outside. Gas valve coils Watch the igniter. Does it glow bright orange, then shut off without igniting the gas? (When the gas ignites there's a large blue flame.) If so, there may be defective coils on the gas valve. Mounted on the top of modern gas valves, there are black electrical coils. The coils, when energized, open the gas valve. If one or more of the coils are defective, the valve doesn't open and the gas cannot ignite. Because it's often difficult to properly test the coils, it's usually best to replace both (all) of them at the same time. Also, in your case, the coils may work fine initially, but heat build up can cause the coil(s) to malfunction and when they cool down will work again.

Error code “loc” appearing on my Hoover Dynamic Next tumble dryer model DX C9DG-89

Likely this is a machine state, not an error.

7. Keylock This function allows to block unwanted changes of the set options on the bezel , during drying phase. Activation/ Inactivation: Push 4 and 5 buttons simultaneously for two seconds . The sign "LOC" appears on the display. Unlocking the option, on the display appears the sign "Unl", only once. In case of opening of 'porthole' with activated key lock, the cycle stops but the lock is kept: to restart the cycle, you must remove the lock and restore Start. When the dryer is off, the option is automatically inactivated. Key lock can be modified at any time of the cycle.

Suggest using the "app" if condition persists.

E15 error code on hoover tumble dryer

Controls
  • The control unit on the tumble dryer will vary among different makes and models. The main purpose of the controls is to allow the user to select the drying cycle. You can choose the time and temperature setting on most units, while others allow custom settings such as moisture sensors and end-of-cycle alert signals. The controls may include a dial or a touch panel and LED screen display. Some tumble dryers allow you to independently select the appropriate time for the load you are drying and separate programs for temperature.
Motor
  • The motor inside the tumble dryer spins the basket to allow the clothes to tumble while being dried. The tumbling action allows the air to pass through the clothing to dry them faster. Heating laundry that is stagnant will likely dry the clothing on the outside while leaving damp clothing inside the pile. The constant motion, along with the heat and steam created by heating the clothing, reduces wrinkles. The motor also powers the fan that delivers the heated air to the basket of laundry. The heater can be an electrical element or gas powered.

Blinking AD

AD is auto dry you may need to clean the sensor or you may have a fauilty one ...Auto Dry Loads dried using the Towels, Heavy Duty, Normal, Perm Press, and Delicates cycles will dry automatically at the selected temperature to the desired dryness level. The dryer uses sensing bars to sense the moisture level of the load as it tumbles through heated air. Auto Dry cycles save time and energy and protect fabrics. The estimated drying time will be displayed for about 5 minutes, then the outside of the display will light up in a circular track to indicate the drying time is automatically being determined by the sensors. When the load has reached the selected dryness level, it will continue to tumble, unheated, during a Cool Down period. This helps reduce wrinkling and makes items easier to handle during unloading. The estimated Cool Down time will be displayed. Drying time varies depending on size and dampness of load and fabric type. If the load is too small or almost dry, the sensing bars may not detect enough moisture to continue the cycle and the cycle may end after a few minutes. Select a Timed Dry setting to dry such loads. Room temperature and humidity, type of installation and electrical voltage or gas pressure can also affect drying time. For cycle selection turn the knob on the front of the dryer control panel. The light will illuminate next to the cycle selected. The following is a brief description for what cycles should be chosen for certain items and materials to be dried.
