SOURCE: Mitsubishi VS-60805 Rear Projection won't operate in HD mode with Cable Box

Since this is an older first generation (1999) HD TV it may not be compatible with newer HDTV receivers because the standards back then were different - Make sure the HD cable box is plugged into the HD component inputs on the back of the TV (not the DVD inputs) and that the menu setting on the TV is set to DTV (not RGB) video. This TV will only accept 480i and 480p signals on the DVD input. Also the HDTV input will only accept 480i,480p and 1080i (it will not work with a 720p signal, make sure your cable box is not set to that mode)

SOURCE: mikomi flashing blue light tv will not work

This could be your power DC.

I had the same trouble when I set the tv on its start normal.
but after a few min. the screens falsh on off, on off.

I change the adapter and the problem is solved!
Check this with a other DC power adapter.

I hope this will work. But for me it was the power DC adapter.

Dude, better check your cable and also your TV's power management settings. This might also happen due a issue with the HDMI output of the satellite box.

23 inch coby flatscreen wont power on clicking noises

After purchasing it a year ago, I have had all sorts of problems with a Coby 23" LEDTV2326 since buying it new in the box at a very reputable long time established, high end pawn shop. It is hooked up to HDMI to my cable box and was working fine for the first 9 months and then it started showing the blue light coming on, but no picture. It is turned on and off through my cable box remote control. Every day it takes longer and I'm not even sure each time what it takes to get it to come on, but I just read something about sharing the power with another device (the cable box) in the same outlet. So, I unplugged both tv and cable box, then just plugged in tv without the cable box plugged into the outlet. I pushed only the tv button on with the remote, the blue light came on and the tv came on all the way on. I then plugged in the cable box and it eventually came on with the HDMI signal and the tv was again working as usual. I suspect somehow this relationship between the cable box and the tv is the problem, but I'm not sure. It also seems that this HDMI source is a problem even though the tv is designed for it. The TV picture is perfectly fine, so I have a hard time believing the failure of the tv to come on is tied to a flawed part in a 1-2 year-old tv, particularly when the picture looks perfectly fine with no defects and the blue Led light on the tv come on. I think it has something to do with the HDMI line to the cable box not transmitting an effective picture to the tv reception. Cox Communications Cable is one of the worst of the worst companies for giving customers old, outdated and defective cable boxes, cable lines and their customer service is horrible and unhelpful. So customers think it is their tv, when it is really the cable box. That's why the blue light to the tv comes on, but no picture - maybe. I found out that the last cable box they gave me was no longer even manufactured and hadn't been manufactured in two years prior to the one they gave me, it was refurbished, yet they were going to stick me with the same model when the other one broke down with whining and clicking noises and it was a DVR recording cable box and I didn't even order their monthly DVR service. They stuck me with it because they wanted to lure me later into ordering the DVR program recording service. That box was a nightmare. Every night, Cox would load their entire tv programming for the next 24 hours into the box so they could record my viewing habits without my permission and then drop in commercials based on my viewing habits in the middle of other commercials that would suddenly disappear when they clicked over to the inserted commercials based upon my perceived viewing habits. They hook up my computer and my phone all onto one system with the tv and it gets to be very "big brotherish" like all the other data collection scandals that are violating our privacy rights.

Picture in picture operation & connection to dvd player

Now--first--connect the DVR cable box HDMI output to the HDTV HDMI input (use the lowest numbered one e.g. HDMI 1) for this connection. Use a standard (not Monster brand) HDMI cable for this connection. Then turn on the TV, turn on the cable box and switch the TV to the HDMI input. A picture should come on. You may even hear the audio on the TV speakers. If so, that is OK.

Then--connect the component video output of the DVD HT to the TV component 1 input. Use a three wire component video cable with red, blue and green connectors on each end. Connect color to color on both ends. Then turn on the DVD, put a DVD in the player and start it running. Switch the TV to the component input and it should show a pix. The audio will come from the DVD player speakers.

If your DVD player does have an HDMI output, you can use it and just connect as above to the second TV HDMI input.

To get audio from the cable box out of the DVD player speakers, you will need to connect an audio cable from the cable box go the HT amplifier. Use a set of RCA patch cables and go from the analog audio output of the cable box to the rear panel audio inputs of the DVD player. The owners manual for this unit will give directions on using this input. Since your HT unit does not have any other inputs, you will not be able to get Dolby Digital audio.

Hope this gives you food for thought. If so, and you have more questions, just come back in with a follow up.

Good luck. Remember, the owners manuals all have hook up connections diagrams. Sometimes they will help.

Dont forget to rate me as fixya..

My Samsung LE32N7 does not come on. The blue light under the screen constantly flashes without the tv coming on.

Hi, maybe the TV controller board is blocked, you can reset it, by disconnecting power cable from outlet for about 5 minutes, if that doesn't work, possibly and internal board or component must be repaired of replaced, in such case it's better to contact an authorized Samsung service center or technician to check your TV.

I just picked up the Samsung HW C560S receiver. I'm trying to run a cable box as well as a blue ray player through it connected by HDMI. Blue Ray seems to work fine but can not get picture from cable box....

When you run the cable box and the blue ray player to your receiver you use two sets or cords yes? there for you need to run two sets of cords to your TV from the receiver. Have you done this? Both the DVD and Cable box will have different inputs to the TV. Turn the cable box on and cycle through the inputs on the TV. One should pop up for the DVD and a different one for the cable. Let me know if this works.

Samsung le32n had it for 16 months came down this morning blue light flashing on bottom of tv but no picture or sound. Tried swapping cables, sockets, leaving it off for a while nothing helps

Those Samsungs and most other HD units can fail within 6-18 months of purchase.. I would contact Samsung and go up the corporate ladder for help. Otherwise you may be looking at a repair bill that is as high as the cost of new unit.

Universal remote

Codes for Samsung (one of them should work on your RCA remote)

006,011,014,015,019,027,036,037,077

Programming Your Universal Remote.

The remote may already be set up to operate your brand of TV, VCR, or Cable Box. It is pre-programmed with following codes:
  • TV-000
  • VCR-000
  • Cable Box-000
  • AUX is programmed with VCR code 037
For brands that require programming, there are two ways to program: Using Code Lists or Code Search. Use Code Search if the code lists are not available or if the codes from the lists do not operate a device.

Programming a Device using Code Search:

  1. Manually turn ON your device (TV, VCR, Cable Box)
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH
  3. Press and release the device button you want to set up (TV, VCR, Cable Box) However, if you are using AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device button for the type of device to be programmed (TV, VCR, or Cable). The selected device button will flash once.
  4. Release CODE SEARCH.
  5. Press OFF/ON repeatedly until the device turns off (you may have to press up to 100 times at a rate of once per second).
  6. Once the device turns off, press and release ENTER.
  7. With the device on, press any other button. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-6.

Programming a device using the Code Lists:

  1. Find codes for each device and brand below.
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH.
  3. Press and release the TV, VCR or Cable button you want to set up. If programming AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device to be programmed (TV, VCR or Cable). When the selected device button flashes proceed to the next step.
  4. Enter the three digit code from the TV, VCR or Cable Box code lists.

  5. Release CODE SEARCH.
  6. With the device on, press another button, for example CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-5 using another code number from the lists.
