Do a Calibration on the treadmill. Take out the safety key. With 2 fingers, hold down the stop button and the speed up or spped plus button. keep holding them down as you insert the safety key, then let go of both.
Press the stop button 1 time, you should see all 0's in the windows, or EP 2P or something weird like that.
Press the Incline up button and then wait. If the incline go up until it stalls then down until it stalls the stops at the bottom, the you are recalibrated, take out the safery key and put it back in to see if all is well. If the incline takes off up again without touching a button, the you have wiring problems or control problems. Call service company to get it repaired.

SOURCE: MY TREADMILL STOPS JUST A MINUTE AFTER STARTING.

Try Lubricating the belt with silicone spray.
Probably the resistence from the belt scraping over the ground board is too high, forcing the machine to switch off in order to prevent damage.

SOURCE: Treadmill incline error

Try this, it fixed it for me, if it doesn't work let me know
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIIxoPtvhy8

I bought a used Precor 9.4 treadmill, but the incline adjustment was not working.
So, I did the following.
1. Turn off, unplug the treadmill and wait for an hour (this is for safety
2. Remove the black motor cover
3. Observe the transformer to the right of the motor and towards the belt ( I point to it in the video)
This transformer converts DC electricity to AC electricity and the AC current goes directly to the Incline motor which is in the black box towards the front of the machine.
4. On mine the wires had come loose from the transformer, they were soldered on very poorly, the wires are stiff and you should be able to see 4 wires coming from the top of the circuit board and plugging into the transformer, I had three of the 4 wires loose.
5. If you are not comfortable working with electronics or soldering DO NOT DO THIS REPAIR, you could get shocked very badly if you just go poking around in there with metal objects, get a friend who knows how to solder or hire someone.

6. It took about 5 minutes I just heated up my $10 soldering gun from radio shack and soldered all the loose wires that were about a millimeter away from the tabs on the back of the transformer, and VOILA! The incline now works!

Treo 121 treadmill. E1 error

Does sounds like a speed sensor. I would replace that first before doing anything else. You might have a blinking led on the controller that blinks when the belt is running...if you do and it blinks when you turn the belt manually, the sensor is good. If thats the case then you may have a bad wiring harness or controller.

Cuts off and speed is variable and shows err 4

Precor Error E4, Incomplete Initialization Probable Cause Indicates that an incomplete upper PCA to lower PCA initialization occurred. When this error occurs, all lift motor and drive motor motion is ceased and the display will go blank except for the error displayed.
Corrective Action Run the initialization program. Caution: The treadmill's running belt will accelerate to the treadmill's maximum speed (12mph). DO NOT stand on the treadmill's running belt during the procedure.
  1. Set the on/off switch to the OFF position. Wait a minimum of 10 seconds to allow the internal power supply to discharge.
  2. Remove the safety key from the console and set the on/off switch to the ON position.
  3. Press INCLINE UP and SPEED DOWN keys together. While pressing these keys, replace the safety switch on the console. Continue holding the INCLINE UP and SPEED DOWN keys until the display goes blank. INIT will appear in the time window of the display. The EEPROM is now clear and reset. After a second, 1.25 will appear in the distance/calories window, 15.0 (the maximum incline) will appear in the incline window, and 12.0 (the maximum speed) will flash in the speed/pace window.
  4. Press QUICKSTART to begin the speed calibration process. Power bits will appear in the incline window, the target speed will appear in the time window and the actual speed will appear in the speed/pace window. At the beginning of the process, the target speed will be .5mph. The running belt will start. Once the actual speed reaches .5mph, the target speed will then change to 12mph and the running belt will accelerate until it reaches 12mph, then it will stop.
  5. When the running belt stops, the display will return to the user mode and the initialization process is complete.

1) i recommend that you lube very well deck belt + rollers bearing

2) see the videos.

3) see the block

4) Try to RUN the software calibration, for troubleshooting.

5) measure the input voltage motor, if there are the motor need repair.
6) Measure the output voltage board, for input voltage board, if there are NOT, the board is faulty.

Loud squeaking on my Reebok 9500 ES (three years old) from under the hood when the foot hits the treadmills - at various speeds and inclines.

HI,

Its time to lubricate your treadmill.
You must obtain the proper lubricant for your treadmill. There are several different types. Contact your manufacturer for what type is needed. Using the manufacturer provided allen wrench, loosen the walking belt approximately 10 full turns on each side of the rear roller. Apply approximately 1/2 ounce of lubricant directly in the middle of the walk area underneath the walking belt upon the deck. Retighten the rear roller 10 turns on each side. Run the treadmill at 6.0 mph for 2-3 minutes to spread the lubricant evenly. Wipe excess lube from the sides of the belt. Walk on treadmill to check for proper tension on belt.
for make it easy for you I have added a video. ok

NordicTrack T5.3 belt stopped working. It's only 1 month old. Console lights up. Incline works. But belt isn't moving

HI, its seems like the belt on the motor has either slipped off, or you just need to tighten it. best way to find out is to take off the front pannel showing the motor. then stand on the treadmill. start it and you will see the problem.

Start my belt and it tries to start but immediately stops

hi, its seems like the belt on the motor has either slipped or just needs to be tightened more, best way to find out is open the front cover showing the motor, step on the treadmill and see what happens. if the motor is still spinning and the belt isnt then its the belt, check the tension if it is loose just tighten the belt. if the belt and motor are fine then its the running belt that needs to be tightened, to check this just put your hand under the belt and try lifting it, if you can easily lift its 2 0r 3 inches then its ok, but if you can lift it alot more this will need to be tightened, hope i have helped.

My proform 515s Crosswalk treadmill works for a few minutes, then the belt stops moving. The lights are still on, the timer still running, the distance still accumulating. It was running flat, no incline,...

1. Inspect belt and deck. The deck should be smooth. The belt should have a consistent feel from side to side (a belt can be worn out without any sensory signs of a problem). If you feel deep grooves in the deck or uneven wear on the underside of the belt, part replacement is necessary. Continued use of your treadmill may damage expensive electrical components. 2. To inspect the belt and deck visually or to clean underneath the belt before applying lubricant, the belt must have the tension reduced. Loosen the tension roller by following the instructions in your owner’s manual. Do not loosen the bolts in the tension roller too far or the bolts will come out of the roller shaft. This step may not be necessary for your treadmill model or belt and deck condition. 3. Contaminants are the worst enemy of your belt and deck. Some treadmills may have an excessive accumulation of dirt and contaminants. If these are trapped during the belt lube process, significant damage will occur. If contaminant removal is necessary, loosen the belt by following step 2, lay the treadmill on its’ side, and use a nylon brush to loosen contaminants that have accumulated on the inside of the belt. Clean the deck with mineral spirits in a well-ventilated area. Allow the deck to dry before lubing or tightening the belt. 4. After completing the steps above go to your local hardware store and purchase a can of silicone spray ( Pyroil, Napa etc ) attach the nozzle and proceed to spray length wise starting at the motor shroud to 2/3 down the deck repeat the process on the other side then re-tension the belt according to you owner's manual. Start unit and proceed to walk on it if the unit shuts down again then belt and deck needs to be replaced or your in the market for a new treadmill.

Machine shuts off when i press incline up. Belt and board look ok

THis sounds like a controller board problem. In many of the treadmills I have seen the same board controls the drive motor and the incline motor. If this product is under warranty have the company covering the warranty check it out. Anytime you buy one of these machines buy the extenced warranty. I was a field service tech for a warranty company. When you call in with a problem make it sound severe.. I have replace almost everything in one except the frame just to make a customer happy. I am not sure of the error message but i seem to remember it being associated with the controller.

I have a NordicTrack EXP 1000 X. Just bought it froma guy on craigslist, and it was working fine at his house. Messed with the belt tensioner bolts a bit when I brought it home, and now when I walk/run on...

It sounds like the belt is bogging down, this condition is when the treadmill operates normally without a person on the belt and then slows down when someone steps on the belt or when the treadmill operates normally for a given period of time with someone on the belt then abruptly begins to slow down.
The only certain way to test for a worn walking belt is to take a DC amp draw . Trying to look at the belt or a feel test is highly unreliable. Better tests, if you lack a DC ammeter (they are expensive for a good one), are a coast test or an incline test.
The coast test is to get on the treadmill as the lowest incline setting and walk on the treadmill at 3 MPH. Pull the safety key and it should take you 2-3 full steps to stop fewer steps indicate high friction.
The incline test is to put the treadmill at max incline and walk on it at 3 MPH. If the treadmill operates normally at max incline but bogs down at minimum incline, replace the walking belt. Gravity takes over for the drive system eliminating much of the friction problem. On some heavily worn walking belts, this test will not eliminate the problem.
