SOURCE: is the denon dra-395 compatible with an ipod?

Anything that has a headphone output can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to any audio device with a standard RCA input. Get a cable like the one described here:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=665&seq=1&format=2

and connect it into any available analog input EXCEPT "Phono". Turn the MP3 player volume up.

Denon DAR-395 sparks

You most likely have shorted output transistors. This will cause the fuse to blow, and usually burns up a couple resistors as well.

We bought our Denon 395 4 years ago. Is it set up for HDTV and IPhone (IPod) use? Also, how can we get a manal as it was lost in moving. Charles Barrett [email protected]

It is an analog STEREO-only receiver so it is NOT compatible with multichannel or even digital audio. The TV is irrelevant.

AS SOON AS I TURN ON MY DENON-395 RECEIVER IT TURNS OFF

I REMOVED THE AM LOOP ANTENNA. AND THE UNIT WORKED. TO MAKE SURE THIS WAS THE PROBLEM I REMOVED AND REPLACED IT SEVERAL TIMES. EACH TIME IT WENT OFF AND. I THEN PUT ON THE FM INDOOR (WIRE) ANTENNA. THE UNIT BEGAN TO PLAY BEFORE EVEN BEFORE I CONNECTED IT. JUST GETTING IT CLOSE TO THE FM COAX. MADE IT WORK.

you need to check your speakers connections to make sure nothing is touching and all is connected right and not to have to many spkrs on the channels, also only have the skrs on that you are using, make sure zone 2 / 3 are off and multi volm is turned down

Denon DRA 395 flashing red power light

Needs to be reset or fuse blown. Take to repair shop, cover has to be taken off and fuse replaced. You could fix it yourself but the warranty won't be honored. Do it yourself electronic shop should have a replacement fuse, may have to be soldered in place. Repair shop, should cost around $30.00 to $45.00 to fix, price of fuse $4.00 to $6.00. Your choice.

Denon DRA 395 volume creeps to max by itself

I also had this problem with my Denon DRA 395. I fixed it by replacing the batteries in my remote! Apparently when the remote batteries are nearly gone, but not 100%, they are capable of prompting the remote to unilaterally increase the volume at irregular intervals. It was kind of spooky!
