There could be a number of reasons why.
A) Something in your household is broadcasting over the same Hz (If you look in your router setup page under wireless theres a Hz range you can set. I would change it)
B) Some modes (A, B, G, Mix Mode) work better thern others. I would check to see what your wireless connective device is preferred to (If none, then I would select G Mode).

My belkin router has lost all settings so I can't access internet from it

Either a network cable from a computer to your router and configure it as Orange instructed, or else get someone else to do it for you who has the hardware, or else get a new router.

My router does not recognize the internet when I am setting it up, however, I can still access the internet through wireless connections that go through the router. I go through the setup process, and the...

I think you are trying to set up router using the Cd program or Linksys Easy Link advisor program. This program has some bugs. It will show you that you are not connected to the router but you are online. Some times it will show you that there are some other people connected to your wireless network but there are not.
So if you are trying to run that program then you don't need to use that program. Even if you call the Linksys tech support number , no one will give you proper answer for that.
you can set up the router manually without the CD.

Wireless router says its working laptop says no its not

Your sister was accessing the wireless access point at school which is connected to the Internet/WEB access via a router and the school's broadband service provider.
For you to access the Internet using your wireless adapter on your laptop, you need your own wireless access point and connect it to a broadband ADSL or cable modem and then connect it to an Internet Service Provider. Some Internet Service Providers (cable and ADSL) can supply a combined modem/router/wireless Access point.
If you already have a broadband modem all you need is a wireless access point/router. You only need to configure the wireless access point and your wireless adapter so they will communicate with each other. Folow the instructions in the manuals.

Need Help with new Wireless Router

more info needed.
Are you on cable or dsl? Can you access the router set-up screen? Can you ping the router from the computer? Whose tech support did you call? Are you using wireless or ethernet connection to router? Can you access the net if you hookup using a ethernet cable? What OS are you using?
You migh try disconnecting the modem line for a few minutes and then reconnecting it to reset the IP address your ISP gives you. If you were using the net successfully without the router, you may want to clone your computer's MAC to the router (DSL).
