There could be a number of reasons why.
A) Something in your household is broadcasting over the same Hz (If you look in your router setup page under wireless theres a Hz range you can set. I would change it)
B) Some modes (A, B, G, Mix Mode) work better thern others. I would check to see what your wireless connective device is preferred to (If none, then I would select G Mode).

I have kinda same problem. I have Belkin wireless G router and cable modem connected on my desktop with Win XP on it. I use the router because I have laptop and want to have internet in other part of house. I lose internet connection every once in awhile and I think it happens when laptop connects to wireless router, I have internet for a few minutes and after that I lose internet (indicator for internet on router is off).What to do?
