Use torx screwdriver to remove the two smaller outside torx bolts inside the tailgate. This will free the bevel around the latch handle. There are also two plastic pins that need to be pried out before the bevel comes completely free. Then remove the three larger torx bolts from inside the tailgate that hold the latch assembly in. When it is loose, use a screwdriver to open the blue/green plastic clips and free them from the threaded rods (right and left). Then use a screwdriver and some muscle to pry the fibre glass piece out enough so that you can pull the entire latch mechanism up and out from behind the fibreglass. It is a real tight fit so don't give up on it. Install the new latch mechanism and repeat all steps backwards. When the latch is in place with the two plastic clips attached to the threaded rods and the three torx screws are holding it firmly, you will have to use a needle nose pliers to reattach the wire spring to the top of the latch so that the latch mechanism resets. Test it before reinstalling the bevel.
