    answer toss coin
if the uF marking is too low they fail
if the voltage is too low it shorts the cap.
why not buy new caps from Mouser.com
really you SHOULD not use old and bad caps, for sure 2007 caps known to fail. Cap Plague.
never use , used caps, for sure electrolytic.
you failed to show what caps these are.
    buy them new at mouser.com
    correct uF, and voltage.
    never lower voltage.
    and low ESR is best
    as are brand good... Nichicon.
the answer is not guessing. you.

what if you moved bad caps to 2nd monitor and now has 2 times more bad.
how can that work>?? you tell me?
    IDK.
I was doing this since 1965, so.... on vast types of gear, not just PC.
reCAPing is not a new idea at all
they are short lived and for sure counterfeits and clones.(of real)
    be brand conscious here.
    https://www.pcdied.com/CAP_PLAGUE/PLAGUE...

    correct uF (electrolyics)
correct voltage or more (tad) if not too big size.
    low ESR
    not put on backwards.
    and use top brands current,
    Fresh, not old.
    not plague years.

the caps can dry out and not just bulge
a real tech test them all with a real meter.
    they can
    bulge
    leak acid (boric)
    explode
    short
go dead open or be weak (low uF)
or crack or make tiny vocanos on the sides
seen them all me. every type of failure
    I use ESR meter too.
you need soldering skills so as not to destroy PCB traces or pads thru-holes ripped out. rending it dead.
and what new ones are best, mouser.com
    Nichicon.

Showing video of the first guy that only seen one kind of failure is no good.
bulges is just 1 of many, .
we test them. looking only shows 1 class of failure.
    some leak acid out bottom.
some the acid eats through side of case.
    counterfeits do that, in spades.
    the big killler is heat.

I RMA'd this probablem as well. They asked the usual questions -- try it alone, check the connections, are you using VGA or DVI... blah blah. Eventually they could give me an RMA.

They have customer support via phone on Sundays in the US, which is nice. Total time from calling to RMA was about 20 minutes.

You need to isolate the problem to see if there's a problem with the monitor or with the sound card of the computer.

To isolate this problem, please try the steps below:

1. Make sure that the monitor is properly connected to the computer.
2. Check the volume of the monitor and the volume properties of the computer.
3. Try to connect your monitor into a known working computer.

SOURCE: I have a 19" Viewsonic VX922 that I replaced the

This is indicative of either / or CCFL back lamp or inverter.

The CCFL is a Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp and the inverter changes DC to AC and functions a lot like a ballast for the CCFL. You'll probably end up buying both - unless you know for sure it is the lamp or the inverter ahead of time.

Prices vary on size of lamp, etc. Most suppliers offer both the lamps and inverters and have pages to assist selecting the correct CCFL & inverter online - one such is here. There are others, too.

Please rate my reply - thanks & good luck!

Hi I have a viewsonic VX922 which I have replaced the caps but on ressembly I can't remember which way round the four back light small plugs go. Can you please help. Thanks Peter

If the capacitors are polarised electrolytic type then they have a + and - leads. The - lead is marked on the capacitor with a stripe and a - sign. The circuit board where the capacitors are located will be marked with a - sign, make sure the capacitors are located correctly acording to the markings.
You need to put the capacitors with the correct values (capacitor) in the correct place on the circuit board.

If the capacitors are non polarised type the it does not matter which way they are inserted on the circuit board, but they have to be the correct value (capacitor).

Having trouble powering up my Viewsonic VX922. See the analog data, but have to power down for 20 sec (several times) to get the digital data on the screen

bob_loopeker, If you know that your pc is ok with different monitor then you will need to inspect the power supply board inside your VX922. All you need in the way of info is here on fixya!! All you need to do is read and make decision on what to do. Spend some time reading in my fixya profile or do "ctrl" key and click on "vx922 19" monitor" that is highlighted in light blue text above. May need new capacitors installed on unit's "switch-mode-power-supply" printed circuit board. hopre this helps. 12fixlouie

Green light flashing on and off and computer screen will turn on when feels like it

The flashing green power button is a well known electronic problem with this (and other) Viewsonic LCD monitors. There is YouTube video (do a search) showing how to disassemble the VX924 (very similar to the VX922) and find out whether the problem is related to blown capacitors. When I took my VX922 apart I discovered 6 bad capacitors out of a total of 7 on the power supply circuit board.

My monitor is getting off

I have a similar issue. A search at Tomshardware web site suggests that faulty capacitors are the issue and that this is a widespread problem certainly with the VX922. Several guys on the Tomshardware post claimed that replacing the capacitors solved the problem (their units were out of warranty anyway).

Viewsonic VX922 19" Green Light Blinks when booted, no picture

I have the same problem with my VX922 as do MANY others. The problem seems to be caused by leaking/bulging capacitors on the circuit board. The only solution is to replace the faulty capacitors either on your own (which is fairly easy if you're good with a soldering iron) or send it to Viewsonic and have them fix it.
