It could be an obstruction in the unit or it is not winding the tape onto the spools due to a broken or slipping belt(s). It could also be that the optical sensors, (that tell you there is a tape in the machine), are not operating. Some units also have an humidity checker. Leave the set turned on for a while and try it once it has warmed up a bit. It this doesn't work then dismantling is the only way to repair. Sorry

SOURCE: vcr is ejected all the time

Besides the solutions techman listed there could be a problem with the tape as well. If you dont see anything inside the machine when you peek threw the door you might want to pop the cover off. Insect the tapes also or the tape your trying to play. If you hold the tape in both hands lable up there is a little pin on the right side of the lever if you push this pin it will rotate the door on the tape you can inspect the tape in the cassette. Sometimes machines will rewind the tape to far and it will reach the leader wich is clear and this tells the machine that it is at the begining or the end. Sometimes the tape will break. Is the machine near a window? there are light sensors inside the machine also and will sometimes kick the tape out if it gets to much light on the sensors. Try a fresh brand new tape first thing then check the inside for debris.

The link tells you about the first player. It says that this player is really picky with discs but people have had success with 4x vertabrim DVD-R discs. The link also has some information on a firmware upgrade to improve the DVD-R/RW selection of discs which the player accepts. Coudn't find much on the second player though other than a french manual which told me what it accepts which i've put above. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Tape keeps getting ejected

This unit requires the rubber parts to be replaced. The loading sequence is not completing properly. The VCR will eject the tape when the sequence fails as a safety measure to prevent damage to either the VCR or the tape.

Parts cost for this should not be more than $10.

Recorder switches off when I put a vcr tape in machine.

The loading mechanism is not working properly. When that happens many units are programmed to shut themselves down.

Why does the tape get caught in my toshiba rd-xv45kb recorder when i try to eject the cassette and the tape snaps

Not sure about the Toshiba but generally when inserting a cassette it is lowered onto the tape drive. There is a device that will register the presence of a tape which used to commonly be a phototransistor or similar mounted on a short post that is covered by the cassette.

Once the machine knows a tape has been inserted, when play is pressed two vertical rods move towards the heads dragging the tape with them enough for it to make contact with the sound head and wrap part of the way around the video head to make playback possible.

When stop, forward or reverse winding or eject is pressed those two rods move back to the starting position and the surplus tape is wound back into the cassette.

If a cassette ejects leaving a loop of tape that can mostly be pulled out little damaged the reeling in mechanism isn't working. If the tape is jammed and comes free only after breaking the rods aren't returning to the start position.

Engineers use an empty cassette case suitably modified so once the vcr cover has been removed the operation can be observed. The problem might be a worn belt or rubber drive wheel or a problem with the hidden linkages - or it might be an electronic problem.

Vcr is ejected all the time

the reason for this could be many things. The first one that comes to mind would be a cassette loading problem,ie the cassette you insert does not load all the way for some reason like little fingers or even big fingers put something inside the tape door and when you put in a tape it dosent let the tape settle all the way so rejects it.a falloen off tape label or sticker I have found to cause this problem. If all looks good then theres a sensor or a mecanical problem that should be serviced by a quilifyed technician.
