Question about Compaq Computers & Internet

I was just donated a Compaq c769 us I wanted to know in it's day was it a good unit ad is it relable 2008 model. It's in pristine condition from what I see ordered power chord on line will check soft ware and functionality ounce it becomes available.

Hi Denardo Monroe, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? It does not upgrade to win 10. Vista is a very old system. Since you did not pay for it, I personally would not spend any money on it. Vista, win 8 and win 8.1 are no longer supported.

(ZIP files are used to send a file that is large in size, more easily over the internet)

When the small window comes up, Left-click on the empty circle to the left of - Save File
Another small window should come up, with a download progress bar.

Let the file download all the way.
Where will the file go?

If you have your downloads set to save to your My Documents folder, (Documents for Vista), it will go there. (Start>My Documents)
It may go to a sub-folder within My Documents called Downloads.

If you do Not have your downloads set to save to your My Documents folder, this file will go to your desktop screen.

When you see the file - Driver 5.02.zip
double-click right on it.
The Installation Wizard will open up.
Go to the upper far left of the window, and left-click on - Extract All Files

Value is subjective as it is determined by several things, ie visual condition (wear & tear), operational condition, the accessories included (presser feet, owner's manual, carrying case, etc), rarity, its geographical location, and ultimately, how much a buyer is willing to pay. There were a lot of these machines made (good machines though), so their rarity may not be great. Unless the machine is in pristine condition, most people who would want this machine would plan to use it to sew, not so much for its value as an antique, etc. You can check auction sites for recent listings and sales to get an idea.

How do I fix, and is it worth it, to repair the cassette mechanism I think on Zenith MC 6190. Machine is otherwise pristine. Purchased new back in the day...

Most likely a belt or belts have broken. That would be an easy repair, but unless you want to use it for cassettes, I wouldn't bother. Value pretty much nil.

Let me try to help you with your question.

Allot of people use ebays seller estimator when trying to present a value on a piece like this.

If the item is in good condition with not problems I have seen them on line for $150 roughly.

Silent actions you might get that amount or a little less in my opinion.

If the item is nearly new what they call mint condition the most you will get that I have seen is $175.

Here is some tips for you.

1. Check auction site like ebay or Yahoo!.
2. Study the description and try to compare it to your donated unit.
3. Set the bid about half the going price so you get most out of the donated item.

The value of a 7 year old washer will vary with it's condition and how much it's been used which isn't stated. For example, a washer kept outside or in the garage and used for a large family on an almost daily basis is going to be worth a lot less than a pristine looking unit that has been indoors and used do to a couple of loads a week. Same as you'd judge the value of a used car. Assuming the unit is in excellent condition and works perfectly, a used machine may sell for up to $250. Beyond that most people will opt for a lower end new machine with a warranty rather than a more sophisticated older one that will most likely soon need repairs. Idea: Consider donating it to a women's or children's shelter, halfway house or homeless shelter. You can usually value the contribution at half the retail cost and deduct it from your income if you itemize. The tax savings may be worth more than what you'd get selling it. Just be sure to get a letter from the charity to substantiate the deduction.
