There 3 light on the printer that able to indicate to user when problem occur.
the amber lights are blinking next to the printer - 37d307a.jpg
1st button light blink rapidly = the printer may be out of paper, so load more paper and press the 1st button itself to continue. Or may be paper jam is occur, so clear the paper jam and press the 1st button light itself to continue.

If 1st button light blink slowly = mean the cartridge carriers are stuck, so raise the scanner unit and remove any object blocking the path of the cartridge carrier, make sure the cartridge are closed and installed properly, then lift the scanner unit, gently push the scanner support towards the cartridge carriers, and carefully lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed. After that press the 1st button itself to continue.

If 2nd LED light blinking = the color cartridge need to be replaced soon.

If 2nd LED light is ON = the color cartridge need to be replaced immediately.

If 3rd LED light blinking = the black cartridge need to be replaced soon.

If 3rd LED light is ON = the black cartridge need to be replaced immediately.

Amber light blinking next to ethernet cable

In most cases an amber lights are usually just connection lights. They let you know the ethernet cable is connected and able to transfer data.
You will want to ensure the printer has a static ip address set in it's configuration, otherwise the ip address will change from time to time causing print issues.

Printer stopped printing; amber teardrop is flashing; no paper jam; cartridges should not be empty. Shouldn't there be a notice of low ink before it just stops printing? Or, the printed pages be faint? All...

The top access door on the printer might be open, or there might be something wrong with the print cartridge.
  1. Check to make sure that the top access door is firmly closed.
  2. If the light continues to blink, open the top access door. When the top access door opens, the print carriage moves so the yellow arrow on top of the print carriage points to a drawing of a cartridge inside the cover. Each drawing describes a symptom.

ORANGE LIGHT IS BLINKING AND PRINTER WILL NOT PRINT

The Amber light is designated as the "Ink Error" light. With regards to a Hewlett Packard printer, the Amber light is indicating that one of the Ink Cartridges (Tri-Color/Black) is empty, defective, unrecognizable, or just simply needs to be changed. The procedure is; lift up the front cover, look at the Black Ink Cartridge, and examine the Ink Level Window on the Cartridge, located at the center of the Cartridge. If the square window appears to be a solid Green then that means the cartridge is completely full. If it is Half Green/Half Black then it is indicating that the cartridge is half way full, and if the square window is completely Black, then the cartridge is completely empty. Also, remove and examine the Tri-Color Cartridge. If the Tri-Color Cartridge feels very light or if the Tri Colors on the bottom of the Cartridge appear to be discolored i.e. All Magenta, All Cyan, or All Yellow, then the Cartridge should immediately be changed. After replacing the Black or Tri-Color Cartridge, your printers Green Power Light will flash and allow you to continue your print job
You can also try:
Clean the cartridge and carriage contacts with a cotton swab moistened with water. If you have refilled the cartridges don't assume that they will still work. If cleaning doesn't help you may have a failed cartridge even if it is not refilled.
If you are getting a grinding noise, clean the carriage rod with alcohol and lubricate it with a few drops of Tri-Flow, available in 2 oz. squeeze bottles at cycle shops.

The exclamation sign flashes and then the green light but no printing

The service Manual says that if both the ready (Bulb) light and the exclamation light are both on it is a invalid engine
code /Invalid network code. But to clarify that you say they are both on and solid and not blinking. If they are you have a bad main board.
If they are blinking then the error is a Flushing /Resolution reduced error.
The cause is:
Printer is processing data or printing pages, but the resolution of a page in the current print job is reduced from 600 dots per inch (dpi) to 300 dpi to prevent a memory full error.
Solution is:
Wait until the ready light is displayed to print other jobs.
• Press and release the triangle button to cancel print job. It is the lower of the two buttons.
• Press and hold the traiangle button again to reset printer.
Hope this helps

My Dell AIO printer keeps blinking right ink cartridge incorrect.Exclamation light keeps blinking too.

Try going to the Dell site and searching for that printer model. Then see if you need to have both ink cartridges populated and filled with ink, to make it work.

You might also clean the contacts on the ink cartridges, to make sure the printer knows you have both cartridges in the printer, even though they're not both filled with ink.

It just might require both to be filled, before it will print for you.

See what Dell says.

Good luck.

Printer keeps showing a stop job with exclamation point

Do you have a Mac OS X?
Maybe you just need to reinstall the driver. Download it through the following link:
http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/7584/

Let me know if it does not work and tell me what OS version you are using. Click on the Apple menu and select About This Mac to get the version.

Thanks.

I have and hpdeskjet 960c printer. The amber light over the symbol for the ink cartridges is blinking. I replaced both the black and color cartridges. The light is still blinking and the printer won't...

open the top cover and allow the print cradle to move to one of the icons this indicates what the problem might be

it either shows that the cartridge is not inserted properly or the incorrect cartridge
or may be low on ink.

remove the cartridge and reinsert

if all else fails replace with new cartridges

HP 3030 printer

Nobody likes giving bad news, but removing power from the printer while in operation has a very good chance of damaging the cirucitry of the printer.

Next time, simply open the paper tray, which will cause an error light to come on and the print job will stop. Or hit the cancel button on top of the printer. Either way, after that you can turn the power switch off, unplug the power, and then cancel the print job from your computer if the print icon is still present on the bottom right corner of your screen.

You may be able to bring the printer to a service technician to repair the problem, but it might not be fixable at this point.
