EliteGroup GeForce 6100Sm-M Problem

I just added an EliteGroup GeForce 6100SM-M motherboard to a case, added memory and a hard drive. I try booting it up, but get no video, and a beeping sound about every second. Any suggestions on what I need to do to fix it?

I separately tested the hard drive, it has Windows XP already installed and works fine in another computer.

Thanks!

I have purchased 13 of these boards and have the beep every second with half of them, Installed in the same case, same memory, ECS now has

two versions of the 6100SM-M and only one is on rebate at Micro Center

    1. I think they (ECS) have a problem. I am going to move the chips to a different board model tommorrow

yes have the same problem, got everything in, connected up & when starting up the monitor went blank & constant beeping every second.

attempted to rule out all posable problems & beeping still occured.

given up now.. will leave it up to the shop where purchased tomorrow.. not such a good buy after all the problems it has given everyone, how disappointing!

4 things can cause this MB to do as you mention.
Bad CPU or the MB is not sensing the CPU fan and is protecting CPU from overheating.
Bad or inconpatible memory, If multiple sticks use only 1 at a time, This MB is known for having problems with both slots filled most of the time bios resaves can fix this but just set up with 1 first.
Reset the bios, Make sure the reset jumper is set back correctly.
Make sure it post without any extra harware hooked up first then add them.

The beeps are a old style of signaling the problem, You can find charts online that will tell you what the beeps mean long and short.

Long beeps like a vga problem

Good day sir, continous long beeps are not VGA problems, but the motherboard cannot detect a good valid memory module (ddr). I suggest you check out your memory, (ddr1 or ddr2) by cleaning its gold plate contacts, and using a brush, the memory slot. just make sure your memory modules are good. (reset also your CMOS)

No display or POST

WAS THE POWER SUPPLY WORKING? IS THE 4PIN BLACK AND YELLOW CONNECTOR FROM POWER SUPPLY IN PLACE? DID YOU TRY BIOS CLEAR? IF IT IS NOT A NEW BOARD - CHECK FOR BLOWN CAPS AROUND CPU (UPRIGHT CYLINDER TYPE THINGIES. RESEAT RAM. CHECK IF MAYBE ONE OF 24 PIN ATX CONNECTOR DIDN'T PUSH OUT OF SLEEVE.
