Necchi 522 sewing machine. My thread will get stuck in the tension and break. It will thread perfectly and run and then it will just tighten up in there and break or when I was threading it after it goes through the tension and through the middle of the tension discs you can't pull it because it's sticking. I try to make sure that it's threaded correctly in the discs and the thread catcher but it will just all of a sudden stop and break. Any suggestions

I have a Necchi sewing machine The bobbin thread is way loose. What should I do

Start out with a brand new needle.

Be sure the machine is threaded properly. Also, the presser foot MUST be raised before threading so the thread will seat properly in the tension disk.

The standard setting for the upper tension is the midway point between the high and low number.

If the bobbin thread is still way too loose, you can try adjusting (tightening) the bobbin case tension. If that does not fix the problem, you can probably try purchasing a new bobbin case for your machine as the old one may be broken or worn.

Tension starts out fine, then as I sew it tightens up and the thread will not pull through and breaks the thread

Ihave a brother industrial machine that used to break the the thread because the tension of the thread was too high. There is a little spring loaded tensioner ontop of the machine thad a nut that could be screwed down to increase tension. As this was a little too tight as Isewed and the thread was pulled around the centre post it would tighten up and the thread would snap.
I think that you must check to ensure that the path of the thread on top of the machine is one that does not introduce too much friction. any tension adjusters should be experimented with

How do I adjust tension on a Necchi Lydia 510 sewing machine?

loops under fabric means top tension needs to be tightened
try cleaning the top tension dial with some unwaxed dental floss and see if that helps. if it doesn't then the tension dial may need to be replaced
also check to make sure the spool of thread is not getting caught on the spool holder
also try a new needle--one that is correct for the fabric being sewed

Necchi sewing machine

There are a number of things that could cause this.
Needle installed with flat in the wrong direction.
Excessive thread tension,top or bottom.
Lack of lubrication. If the machine can do anything more than a straight stitch the mechanism can gum up and not move the needle correctly.
Here is a link to threading directions.

My Necchi 4595 has never really worked properly,.,.,the lower thread (bobbin) is very loose and then the thread breaks,,,I've tried to adjust the tension, but maybe I'm doing that wrong.

I also own 2 necchi sewing machines, my mechanical is a 4595,,
lower thread tension
to test the bobbin tension, remove the bobbin case & bobbin & hold it by suspending it byb the thread, **** it once or twice, if the tension is correct, the thread will unwind by about an inch or two.
if the tension is too tight, it does not unwind at all, if the tension is too loose, it will drop too much.
to adjust the tension,, left is loosen & to the right tighten

thread breaks
rethread the machine making sure to get all thread guides
top thread tension usually 3 or 4
replace needle- make sure the needle is inserted correctly
some needles don't work with some thread, here's a tip

Cut 6-8 inch piece of thread of the spool you are going to use for your project
Take the needle you are going to use for the project
& insert the thread thru the eye of the needle
& lift one end of the thread to a 45 degree angle
& if the needle is the right size for the thread it will slide down the thread
But if the needle hangs on the thread you need one size larger needle for the thread

Thread gets stuck around a knob on Necchi 536 FB sewing machine

I'm guessing you would have loosened the tension? Is there grit or something sticky (dirty oil) stuck between the tension discs?
