SOURCE: Direct TV remote "tv input" button won't work with my Sony TV

I came across this looking for a similar solution for my Samsung TV, and I found the solution on ehow.com. Apparently after you program the remote for your TV you have to hold mute and select again until it flashes twice then put in 960 to make the remote control TV input too. Note you're remote should be in TV mode while you do this. It seems silly that the DirectTV guy wouldn't do this when programming the remote.

SOURCE: cannot turn CC ON/OFF via remotes

Try this combination.

1) Start with the cable box turned on and TV on tuned to the cable box.

2) Press the POWER button for the cable box and then quickly press the MENU button.

3) This should bring up the user setting menu. Use the arrow keys on remote to go to Closed Caption and press right arrow button this should bring up the closed caption menu.

4) Press the OK button and this should either turn CC on or off.

5) Once Closed Caption is turned off press LEFT ARROW button to return to User Settings Menu.

6) Press the POWER button to turn the Cable box back on and the Closed Caption should be gone....

Good Luck.....

How do I code my Yamaha rx-v361 receiver onto my comcast remote control?

To program your remote follow these steps.
1-Turn on the receiver
2-press the "AUX" device key on the remote control
3-Press and hold the "setup" button until the aux key blinks twice, than release the setup button.
4-Enter one of the following codes
30176 or 31176
5-If you entered the code correctly, the AUX key will blink twice and turn off. Now aim the remote at the receiver and press power. If the device turns off, than the code functioned properly. If the receiver does not respond, restart the procedure and enter the other code provided

Hey I'm trying to program my Comcast remote to control a Vizio VHT510 sound bar sound system bought at Costco. Any ideas if there is a way do do this?

After much research, here is a step-by-step for getting your Vizio Soundbar to work with the Comcast remote using EFC codes (mine is the newer charcoal grey one, works great!)

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 11144 (2 blinks)

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00169 - Vol Up - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00168 - Vol Down - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00037 - Mute - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00165 - Power - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00164 - Input - Should get 2 blinks

These are optional, I didn't use them:

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00036 - <button to use for TVOL> - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00101 - <button to use for TSHD> - Should get 2 blinks

Then set the volume control on the remote and other settings according to the Remote's manual.

ENJOY!! Hope this helps someone...

How to connect tv to comcast cable box

If you only have the comcast receiver and a TV, take the input (wire from outside the house or outlet on wall) and screw that onto the input of the comcast receiver. Take another wire (or RCA, component connecters or whatever means the box and TV provides) and go from the output of comcast receiver to the input of the TV. Set the TV input mode (on the TV itself or by the remote) to whatever mode you hooked up the cables to (video 1, aux, video 2, etc) and you should see a picture. From there use the comcast remote to change channel. If you use the round cable (rg56 or rg59) you will not need any other connections between the TV and the box. The video and audio are broadcast on the same line. If you use RCA (yellow red white) connectors, yellow is video, white and red are audio) you will need all three wires from comcast receiver to TV. I hope this helps and good luck!

Comcast remote's ok button doesn't work with xbox 360

Sorry, the Red Button won't work, but you can map the A button on the Comcast remote instead. It's almost the same thing... Your fingers will barely know the difference.

1. Press the Aux button at the top of the remote.

2. Hold the Setup button until the Aux button flashes twice.

3. Enter 994 on the keypad. The Aux button will flash twice again.

4. Now push the Setup button once. Enter 00001.

Finally, push the A button The Aux button will flash twice. You now have the A / Select / OK / Green button mapped on the Xbox360.

--If you want to switch the A button back to default, just do the same sequence but this time push the A button twice.--

Samsung code for a comcast cable box

The Remote w/ On Demand buttons, it's the same as the DVD player code 1932. Hit the AUX button, press and hold SETUP until AUX blinks and enter 1932. Press the power button and it should turn off the reciever.

*UNLOCKING VOLUME CONTROL* You must until your AUX volume control in order to use your Comcast remote. To do so, you must select AUX, press and hold SETUP until AUX blinks. Enter 9-9-3 and press Vol - (down). This should unlock your volume control when you select AUX. I'm not sure how to set AUX as your default setting for volume, unless you were to program your AUX device as your TV and vice versa I'd suspect.
Hope this helps!
