Some dishwashers have 2 solenoids.
The water intake valve (and or) one used for drainage. If the solenoid is new, then it sounds like a problem. If it has been in the dishwasher for years, this can be normal as a solenoid heats up rather quickly. What your looking at is only the caseing. If the dishwasher is running fine and u don’t smell anything burning or leaking then leave it alone.

Bad timer. Sadly, the cost of replacing the time and the solenoid is likely prohibitive. Timer is expensive. Sorry, I know this is not what you want to hear.

SOURCE: Does the GE Nautilis have a water solenoid valve?

Yes and it is item number 744 of this link:

Close up:

And controlled by the float switch in the front left corner of the tub. If the float sticks there will not be any water supply.

Item 302 of the first link is the float dome and item 305 is the float. Don't be afraid to check to see that when the float is lifted up and down you hear a micro-switch click.

Thanks for using FixYa.

SOURCE: can my GE nautilus dishwasher be converted from

I would try the manufacturers website for a list of accessories.
Most will integrate by removing the kick-panel and adding a cover over the door, but it is best to check before going ahead.

Well, without knowing the model, suspect it's GE or knock-off brand. Typically the drain solenoid will have a melt down, causing this situation. Easy answer is to replace the pump assembly, and reccomended. My sisters dishwasher did the same thing, the soleniod was melted, so I just replaced the solenoid only to find the pump bearing was drying out. So for the hassle and cost, I replaced the whole pump assembly, now it's quiet as a mouse, and works fine. This is a very easy fix, Basically you need a 5/16" nut driver and wrench, tip the unit back and swap em out. gotta love plug and play...

My ge dishwasher will not fill with water when started

You need a voltmeter to test the water solenoid valve. If the valve is getting power, but does not fill the unit with water, then replace the valve

Dishwasher will not drain (water just trickes out) fill is good

Drain valve not opening or pump impeller loose on shaft - is it washing ok?

My guess would be drain valve not opening. It is a 110v solenoid and they get stuck or burn up. New solenoid costs ~$20.00

Dishwasher----GE Nautilus

1. Check drain pipe, air gap and drain for blockage.

2. Could be too much dishwasher liquid build up (i.e. too much Cascade used over time, clogging things inside the machine). Remove all standing water first then boil a big pot of water (3 to 4 quarts) and carefully pour in to bottom of dishwasher. Let stand until cool. Attempt to drain.

3. Turn off Circuit Breaker to dishwasher. Open kick plate at bottom and look around for the cooling fan for the motor and spin it free in both directions. Look for any solenoids and push them in to the other position. Attempt to drain on dishwasher.

4. If the above steps don't fix it and you are not handy, it's time to call in the repairman or consider getting a new one. If you are handy, do a web search on more detailed solutions for your model of dishwasher (typical failure points are valves, impellers, pump etc).

GE Nautilus not draining water out

If the pump is not running, it could be the pump or the timing switch. My GSD2600G00WW would not drain. Wash cylce was running fine. I have just taken out the solenoid attached to the pump and the solenoid is burned out. Will replace tomorrow and see if that does the job. On line price for a new solenoid is about $35.00

Dishwasher keeps melting the 'solinoid' (sp.?)

You're not connecting a 110V rated solenoid to a 220V supply are you? (Always thought the US supply system was unneccesarily complex). A.

Dishwasher drain solenoid

Snoopy, first of all you did a good thing when you ordered the timer. I have got stung on this model by just changing the solenoid. The fact is the timer is stalling and sending too much voltage to the solenoid and burning it up. Just order the new solenoid and install it. The solenoid is a AC circuit so it doesn't matter which way the harness is on, you should be just fine with the new back.
