make sure the light is pluged in a port that is for like a spare aux. any time you add programs you must hit the store button.

Well, since this is brand new, it is still under the normal
warranty period. There must be something wrong with the controller, since it works fine in Service Mode. Just
get in touch the dealer where you buy the unit.

your aqualink has a one touch chip in it you have to program with the hard wired controller if you dont have one you need to upgrade the chip to a PDA chip to program with the hand held

Set a program for pool mode on

go into set up then programming highlight the item you want to make a program for set on time and off time if you want it to run continuously start time 2:00am to 1:59am it will go off for 1 minute then start back up

Sometimes if two time setting overlap the RS will do what they call "ghosting" and any manner of odd thing may happen. Reset the timing for the main pump after clearing out all the other time programs. See if that works.

How do I delete an Aqualink RS4 program? The filter is on all the time. When I set a new program start and stop time the controller keeps adding programs versus replacing an/the existing programs.

most of the time this is caused by a faulty spa side controller. If you trace the line from the spa and disconnect it see if that solves the problem.

Pool pump starts & stops on its own outside of programmed run

There are several potential problems:

freeze protection circuit causing pump to start - could be a bad outside air temperature sensor.
It is possible the new relay is bad.
There could be a short in the control wires to the relay
old programming shadow stuck in memory (not likely since you changed the boards)

Yes, the starting and stopping can harm your pump.
