SOURCE: Paddle won't turn in the breadmaker with any resistance
It is the little metal plate that locks the paddle shaft to the big sprocket. the little flat spot is worn away. now where do I get a new one, it is may be worth a penny.
SOURCE: dryer turns on, but does not run
Try to turn the drum inside with no clothes in it, does it turn freely both ways?
Then as someone is holding the start button, hold the door switch
button, then try to turn the drum counter-clock wise, and see if it
will start turning on its own.
If it does start turning, then the motor is more than likely the problem.
If it dosen't then the timer is more than likely the problem.

Your head gasket has a break in it,and ,or a cracked head. Be careful
not to let the engine overheat, and cause severe engine damage. I'd
suggest not using the vehicle, until you have it repaired. Good luck.

The paddle stops because either you have too much dough or the motor can't provide the necessary power and it's stopped by the internal protection. You must check the motor (the brushes in particular, and the collector) and its speed regulator in particular.
Since we are talking about electricity here i must warn you: if you don't know how to do that then call someone to do it for you.
