You can bolt the ground wire anywhere to the metal body or frame of the car since the battery is attached to the frame and body all electricity flowing through the body/frame goes to the negative terminal of the battery(ground). Preferably you would bolt it as close as possible to the starter without putting in danger of moving parts or heat though.

My battery went flat and I jump started my car (Holden VT) now my stereo is locked. Dose anybody know how to unlock it. It's a eurovox radio unit.

Samantha, You need the VIN and the radio serial number. Take those into a Holden dealer to get the radio code and programming instructions from the dealer. They may want a small fee for the #. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

How to change starter motor

open the bonnet disconnect battery terminals.
then raise vehicle on hoist or car stands.
then disconnect the wiring that's connected to the starter motor.
once everything is disconnected remove the 2 bolts that secure the starter motor to vehicle.
when fitting new one just follow these steps in reverse..

Vt commodore starter motor sticking on

Check the starter swich for failure to return to on position. If ok check starter itself. The benix can lock onto the flywheel if bushes are bad.
