SOURCE: coleman 5000 generater-no AC output

Pull off the cover at the end of the generator and locate a 2 lead capacitor, it should read 130UF 200V and replace it, they often go bad and you will not have any output if they are. colman has them for 20.00 shipped. 1-800-445-1805

Try replacing the capacitor. You can buy it from http://www.jackssmallengines.com/do_it_home.html. When you pull off the power end of the generator look at the diodes also. If they look toasted replace them as well

Take the through bolt out of the end of the alternator / rotor shaft. it is a long bolt. The shaft from the engine is tapered and unlikely to just pop off. Find a bolt that will screw into the end of the rotor shaft (hardend) find a metal bar that will slide into the rotor long enough so the bolt tightens down on the bar, it will pop the alternator off the tapered shaft

My remote speaker system works with the batteries but not with the AC adaptor plugged in to the speaker.

I would suggest to check AC outlet first where adaptor is pluged in,if Ok measure output voltage from adaptor to see if there is any (using any voltage multimeter with AC/DC)
Check label on adaptor shold be writen AC or DC output ,and value 3V,6,9,12,24,48 etc...
If adaptor is ok then problem is power jack mounted in to the speaker (cold solder joints' or damage)

Coleman Powermate Powerbase 4000 -no AC Need Field test procedur

Check the voltage sent to the field when running. It will probably be around 12 volts. You can try connecting a lantern battery BRIEFLY to the field to re-magnetize the field. Try bothe polarites.

Some have had a bad rectifier and one had a bad transformer that generaates the low voltage from the generated output. He had a broken wire from the winding to the wire from the transformer. He was able to reconnect the failed solder joint.

I have a coleman 1850 sport madel.the unit runs

The lack of DC output COULD possibly prevent the stopping. There are likely fuse(s) between the low voltage winding and a rectifier to generate the DC. SOMETIMES these are even inside the generator cover.

Ac adaptor on my 32 Protron inch LCD TV no longer work

What is the current output of the adaptor? If it is AC and you use only the 12v to 3v it is ok. But if the current output of the adaptor is DC and you use both 24v to 6v and 12v to 3v there is some danger if use the new one. Remember that DC current have polarity.
