SOURCE: Water is full and won't shut off dnby ddw399w countertop dishwasher

Hi, There is a water level switch in the d/w. located in front corner. You can move it up and down while listening for a clicking noise. Sometimes soap will gum them up so they don't move. when it is overflowing, will the water shut off if you turn the machine off or do you need to turn the water off at the faucet?
Please let me know so that I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

SOURCE: what is the funnel thing

The "funnel thing" is exactly what it looks like- a funnel. It's for adding the salt to the water softener located on the "floor" of the dishwasher:)

SOURCE: dishwasher won't fill with water

Hi

When the Dishwasher won't fill you'll need to check for the water inlet hose, the water inlet valve and the float switch assembly. When the water fills your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. As the float reaches a certain threshold level, it shuts off the flow of water, thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling. Sometimes it can happen due to float valve and on other occasions due to float switch. Inspect the water hose coming to the dishwasher for any blockages. If the hose is not clogged then check the water inlet valve for any clogs, if the water will not even fill for few seconds then certainly the water inlet valve is bad and should be replaced. You can also use a multimeter to check continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. However, if the valve is fine then the float switch assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Danby DDW1899WP Portable Dishwasher will no longer turn on

If it just has no water, then it would be a fairly safe bet it was the water inlet valve. If it is completely unresponsive, that points to either a power issue or a control board issue. You will need a Service Technician, and you may be better off with a new one depending on the age of it. The reviews put it at about 3 years old and $429. It is more of a freestanding machine that portable, it just has wheels. It looks useful.

Danby has the manual for the DDW1899WP-1 on the product information site: https://www.danby.com/en-us/products/kitchen-en-us/ddw1899wp-1/ . Look in the right hand column as you scroll down. Danby portable dishwasher ddw1899wp starts taking in water and then stops working with pre-rinse light blinking. Please help me on this issue. Any answer would be much appreciated.

If the water level sensor does not electrically shut off when the level needed is reached, the pre-rinse cycle will error out thinking that the level has not been reached. That sensor is a float device and probably needs to be replaced...

I couldn't find it either for a long time:

1) Pull out the bottom rack as if you were putting dishes there
2) Look at the bottom of the dishwasher and there will be a white circle (near the upper left side) where you can add the water softener.

I didn't use any for a while and the dishwasher worked great so I'm not sure why you can't run it.
