I have a Intel® Core? 2 Duo Processor T5200 in my Toshiba satellite a105 s4334 notebook. what can I upgrade to? the chipset is a 945GM from intel and the fsb is 533, L2 cache of 2MB. please help I need an upgrade

I have both Operating ssytems. If your happy with XP stay with it. Vista has big changes and so does Windows 7. Your computer has to have a duo core processor which I think yours does not have. If it does it will state that on the bottom label. If not XP is your only choise of programming

unforntuately, these are the only type of processors that the vostro motherboard supports

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor
Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core processor
Intel® Celeron® processor

the one that you were asking to use is not compatible since it's a Quad processor.

Honestly, it is normally not worth it to upgrade the cpu on a laptop. Laptops are build to deal with a certain amount of heat and adding a faster cpu can cause the current cpu cooling fans to not get the job done anymore. You will seem instability in your system and could possibly damage it due to over heating.

With that said you would only be able to upgrade to a very slightly higher speed cpu and your money would be better spent else where. Some good ways to speed up a laptop are max out your memory or install a faster hard drive. For example if your current drive is a stock 5400rpm unit a 7200rpm drive would give you a nice boost. You could also look into a solid state option.

Both these upgrades will give your laptop a better boost without the hassle and risk of a cpu upgrade.

As you can see on the page there are key difrences between the chipsets other runs on ddr2, yours on ddr. the FSB support is 400 on yours and 533 / 667 on the 945.

It looks like that there are so many brothers here with the similar problems as I. I bought the Toshiba Satellite A135-S2386 with Vista Home Basic on it. And, of course, I wiped out the Vista and installed the XP Home. Like most people, I had 6 unfound drivers at first. Thanks to the previous posts, I got video cards, wireless and SM bus working. Now, I still can't get modem and two other unknown devices to work. Can anyone help me this? My Drivers does not load From CD. Like Vidio Controller, Graphics etc.. Lindly Send me The Drivers so that I Can Up Load My Labtop Mode No. A 135- S2386. Toshiba Satellite Doul-Core Inside Please Help & Mail me the Drivers Thanks....

did you go to toshiba and see if they were listed on their website?
If so let windows put in their own drivers.
uninstall them from device manager and scan for hardware changes.
