I have a CK36-1B with R22 / heater GMP075-3. A.C. has shot compressor and heater has bad board. I have a new replacement board but I want to replace with a Puron 410A Unit, Is the current Air Handler 410A compatible?
Come on guys....the oils in them will not mix well and will deteriorate the compressor... Should be replaced
Your inside unit that you are describing is not actually referred to as an air handler, but as a gas furnace... It does not have an evaporative coil built into it, it is attached to the top of it... The furnace is only running the blower during cooling... So yes, you can still use the same furnace... If you can still see the label on the coil, it will say r22 or 410a comparable and will work with a 410a condensing unit with the proper txv installed... For piece of mind, if your unit is in a closet, the furnace may need to be removed to remove and install a coil which will get expensive... Myself, I would have the coil replaced at the same time to have a warranty in case something should happen...
No. 410 units run at higher pressure than r-22 units the coil will blow apart. Not recommended. Do it the right way and ovoid future problems
With the right expansion valve it would be.

Actually you might get a ohm meter the reads to at least 40 megaohms and check the coil on the solenoid valve as well as the coil on the contactor. That would determine which coil ic failing. They should read out above 40 megaohms.

Depends on if your going to stay with the old refrigerent system of R 22 ro upgrade to the new R410A system. I have been upgreading my customers to 410A if the compressor has failed. Replacement of all components recomended on a compressor burn out.

no, you wont be able to get the 13 seer out of the coil. stay will the same seer rating or change both pieces.

Hello, if you take the L1 wire and jump it with tje high speed motor wire you can bypass the board, if this turns on the motor then you board is fried. If it does not work thenthe motor is shot and muat be Replaced. Also make sure the capacitor is not damagec.
Testimonial: "Thanks. You are on the right track, however, tech said that the way the motor was wired, they could not do it? She said there are 4 wires leading out?"

It sounds like that contactor is the culprit. My reasoning is that after you fooled with it, it worked for a while before resuming the problem A new contactor costs about 15 to 20 bucks and it would be no chore to just hook up the two thermostat wires to the coil from the old contactor. You only need the power from the inside thermostat wiring for this test. Make sure you have pulled the high voltage fuse block power. Simply put the system in the call for cool mode and let the contactor pull in and see if it stays in without blowing the fuse. If after more that 2 hours passes with no problem you know it is the contactor. The only thing left would be to change out the low voltage wiring between the condensing unit and the air handler and next the circuit board. That board will and has failed for my customers but its not too expensive, you might want to shop it. Good luck.

I think what Rob is suggesting is that they use a different copper when making 410 coils then they did when making r22 coils. Any one have an opinion on these new 410a coils!!!??? Ha Ha Ha!!
