Guys,

Here is an update of the problem:

Using the shredder for continuous extended periods causes the motor to overheat in which case the motor just shuts off automatically.

Leave it for a while to cool down and resume normal usage - this should make it work again.

There is a switch inside the shredder that needs to be activated by a notch in the waste basket. Take extra care to aligh the notch with the slot otherwise the shredder will not work.

No theres the fix!

I personally work with Fellowes brand shredders, but it sounds like you have a paper feed sensor issue. This may be a mechanical or electronic sensor located in the center of the paper feed slot. If it is electronic it may just need cleaning(qtip dipped in rubbing alchohol. If it is a mechanical sensor check to make sure it has not been broken or it may be stuck because of paper that has become wedged behind it(you may need to jiggle the switch a few times to free it). If none of this works you may have a burned out switch or a bad pc board, contact manufacturer for more info.
