There are a few basic things to be aware of.

1. This is an astronomical telescope so there is no erecting lens combination. So, everything you look at will be upside down.
   
2. As a refracting telescope you have virtually no maintenance. A good thing.
3. This telescope has an equatorial mount. Basically the mount corrects for the off-axis spin of the earth. The quick and dirty way to align the scope is to set position on the mount to 0hrs and 90 degrees. Make sure you are setup on a level surface and then rotate the entire telescope and tripod so that it faces north. Depending on your Latitude and longitude Polaris or the north start will appear higher or lower in the sky. Polaris is called the north star because it is within 1degree of the true north and it is always in the same spot throughout the night and year. The mount will have a third adjustment point near the base to adjust for the apparent change in position caused by the curvature of the earth. Once it is lined up try pointing the telescope at a bright star. The smaller the mm number on the eyepiece the higher the magnification. The beauty of an equatorial mount is that once you have it properly aligned on an object you only have to adjust on axis to keep the object in view.

Hi,

You've probably activated the parental control accidentally from the remote control. This is usually done by pressing two buttons simultaneously and can be deactivated by pressing the same two buttons again. Without knowing the model number, I can't tell you which two buttons they are so you'll need to deactivate this feature from the on-screen menus on the TV.

You may need to use the original Olevia remote to do this:

1. Press the MENU button on your remote to open the on-screen menus
2. Select the PARENTAL CONTROL option
3. If asked for a Password or PIN, the default is often 999999 on Olevia TVs. If it's only asks for four numbers, try 9999. If you have set your own password/PIN, enter this instead.

If you haven't set your own password and 999999 doesn't work, the default will be something similarly simple, e.g. 000000 / 0000 / 111111 / 1111 etc depending on how many numbers there are in the password.

4. If/when the password is accepted, set all of the rating options to OFF
5. Press the "MENU" button again to exit the menu and resume watching TV.

I apologise for the very basic instructions. From your description, you seem to know how to navigate the on-screen menus and are simply having difficulty getting beyond the password screen. You should be able to get past the password screen with
