Assuming that the four speakers are connected to the amplifier, then the amp is the most likely problem component. Does the amplifier show a power light when the system is turned on? Note that there is probably another fuse in the amplifier power wire, near the battery.

Hi,

Code entry on a Kenwood KRC-X957:
1. press the MENU button till the word "MENU" appears on the display;
2. Press the >> button a couple of times till the word "Security" is displayed;
3. Press either AM or FM till "ENTER" is displayed;
4. Wait till "ENTER" changes to "CODE";
5. Press preset button and enter your "Security Code";
6. Press the DISP button till "RE-ENTER" is displayed;
7. Wait till "RE-ENTER" changes to "CODE";
8. Press preset button and enter your "Security Code" again;
9. Press the DISP button till "APPROVED" is displayed.

Trying hitting the reset button which should be either on the changer next to the cartridge eject or on the controller display. It will be a pin hole to press.

this normally happens with a lot of sets! It usually happens during a Power Failure, Power Surge (Fluctuation) and if the wire of the component is taken out from the wall outlet while the system is on...To get rid of this problem all you need to do is to press the Display button on the main unit, it is located just below the main display! Cd changer

You can use any CD changer that has an FM modulater. You would listen to it by tuning in to a station on your tuner.

The sales person at any place that sells car stereos would be able to show you the right type of changer.

If your radio has a cd changer controller built into it, you need to check with the dealership to find out what the OEM changer would be. But a FM modulator will work with any car stereo.

Kenwood, Pioneer, JVC, Clarion, Alpine all sell FM modulator CD changers. I would not personally buy any of the cheaper no name brands. The money you save on the cost is not worth the difference in quality. Panasonic is a very good brand for car stereos but not home stereos, but I don't know if they make CD changers. if they do, that would be a good brand.
