1. Go to: http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/ 2. Click "Notebook" under "Select Product Family". 3. Click "Extensa" under "Select Product Line". 4. Scroll down & select "Extensa 5420" under "Select Product Model". 5. Click on the down arrow opposite to the component you want to download the drivers for.
You can go to the manufacturers website to check if you have the very
latest driver for your webcam. if not, you should be able to download
it from there.
Go to control panel, then system properties, then device manager, then
hardware. check imaging devices to see if your webcam is recognized.
I had the same problem with the Extensa 5420-5687 as well, I went to the device manager and found my crystal eye webcam (there was a yellow exclaimation point on it) I tried to update the driver software by having it search automatically for the software, but it just said that it was up to date...that still didnt fix my problem. So i tried browsing my computer for the driver. I picked "let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer" I then clicked on "Acer crystal eye webcam" then i hit next, it then installed the updated driver. After that my webcam worked again!
