I also had the same problem....i went to the customer support center with ma cell phone...they firstly asked whether it had gone wet while Switch On condition.....actually that's the reason!!! Just test with ur head set that u can hear soundly. Its better to take to customer support center, it has to be repaired.
The microphone is located under the last set of keys . you can open it up and see if when u dropped it a connection came loose but my guess when u dropped it you damaged the mic itself therefore the only way to fix it would to be to get a new phone
try to format your phone, and check if thhe problem persists. FOR SOFT-RESET:
- at Standby Screen type-in => *#7780# It will ask for “Restore all phone settings-phone’ll restart….” Then it asks for security code enter factory default => 12345
FOR HARD-RESET:
- at Standby Screen type-in => *#7370# It will ask for “Restore all phone settings-phone’ll restart….” Then it asks for security code enter factory default => 12345
FOR FLASHING- TOTAL RESTORE: (Do this if your phone does not boot up)
1) Remove the battery, and then wait for about 20 min or so before putting it back
2) Press and hold these three keys together -Green dial key, Star key[*], Three key [3]
3) switch ON the phone.
4) Do not let go the three keys until you see the WELCOME screen displayed and just let it complete the boot process.

You need to clarify whether microphone or its connection bad or system causing the problem. I suggest you to try with external bluetooth or normal headset. If sound microphone works with headset you need to have microphone connection be fixed
