SOURCE: I need help installing my 2wire wireless adapter card.

I used this one:

Introduction
============
This document describes the procedure to install driver for the 2Wire Wireless USB Adapter under Microsoft Windows, and to run a wireless configuration program to configure your 2Wire Wireless USB Adapter to work with a 2Wire HomePortal or OfficePortal wireless gateway. These drivers work under Microsoft Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, and XP.

STEP 1 - Driver Installation
============================
1. Make sure your 2Wire Wireless USB Adapter has not been connected to your computer USB port.
2. Double-click on the file to run WinZip Self-Extractor. The driver installation files will be placed in your hard disk in the C:\TWWUSB_TEMP directory
3. Connect your 2Wire Wireless USB Adapter to an available USB port in your computer. Windows Found New Hardware Wizard will startup.
4. Select the option to search for driver in specific location. Specify C:\TWWGUSB_TEMP as the location of driver.
5. Follow on-screen instruction to finish driver installation.

STEP 2 - Wireless Configuration
===============================
1. Run the program WirelessCfg.exe in the directory C:\TWWGUSB_TEMP. You can do so by clicking on the Windows Start button and select Run. The Windows Start button is typically at the lower left corner of the screen. Type in C:\TWWGUSB_TEMP\WirelessCfg.exe to launch the program.
2. Follow on-screen instruction to configure your wireless setting. Enter the serial number and encryption key as they are printed on the bottom of your 2Wire wireless gateway.

SOURCE: install 2wire 1701hg without installation CD

1. pull up browser(ie internet explorer)
2. type 192.168.1.254/setup or http://homeportal/setup in the address field. (click on i forgot my password if you forget it. then if you can't figure out the pw with the hint provided then go click on " i still forgot my password". you can then reset the system password)
3. setup your 2wire 1701 page, double check if key codes are there. it should be 522P-22P4-6262-22AT-F2NV
4. In time zone page, just choose the one then click next.
5. setup connection info page, just make sure the username is your primary email address with your ISP and also the correct password. fill out the username and password and confirm password fields ONLY then click next. And you're DONE!

you just have to wait till it successfully establish a connection.
if you're still having problem after doing that maybe twice or more then i suggest giving your ISP a call. they can also send you the 2wire cd if your ISP supports 2wire modem. AT&T does.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Install wireless notebook adapter without CD

This is an easy one, go to this web site http://www.nodevice.com/driver/company/Linksys.html download the correct driver, after it is downloaded, if required uncompress it, & install it, REBOOT, THEN and NOT before insert ya USB Wifi and it should automatically install the drivers ya via the prior installed Drivers, and install itself, otherwise simply "Point" it to the place where ya stored the Downloaded driver and it should proceed to finish from there. REBOOT. Now you can setup ya Wifi connection.

2wire wireless usb adapter installation for desktop

elomarcillo1,
You are attempting to install a (brand name) 2wire wireless usb adapter, normally the SBC DSL CD is ONLY what you would use to set up your SBC DSL modem. You should have a specific 2wire CD that you put in your CD Drive when you want to install the 2wire wireless usb adapter. Can you locate this CD?

I need a CD to install but i dont have one

The problem is, that 2wire and AT&T, like most companies that get too big for their britches, **** big fat eggs! I found the drivers by using archive.org to view a past version of "www.2wire.com/?p=410", which looks to be the last version of their legacy drivers page. The driver and manual links for this adapter and others are there, but archive.org doesn't host files. You have copy and paste just the 2wire part of the direct links for the drivers from archive.org. Not surprisingly, the files are still right where they were on 2wire.com, they have just removed the page that links them.
At some point 2wire will probably remove the files, but until then, here they are: Windows XP http://2wire.com/pages/drvrs/twwgusb_2.3.1.3.exe http://2wire.com/pages/pdfs/USB_Adapter_Driver_Installation.pdf
Vista Driver http://2wire.com/pages/drvrs/TWWGUSB_TEMP.exe http://2wire.com/pages/pdfs/WindowsVista_Wireless_USB_Adapter_Driver_Installation.pdf

If you go to the control panel, there should be a link somewhere where you can add new hardware. Find this, connect the device, and add the hardware.
