SOURCE: kenwood stereo synthesizer tuner t-85l

T-85L is a component of a hifi system not suposed to work alone. You have to connect it to another Kenwood component (an amplifier like the A85 ) through a special cable to power it on/off. The special cable can be used point to point or as daisy-chained.

SOURCE: connecting a car stereo to an amplifier

you have to connect your 4 speakers to 4 speakers output direct to your car stereo no need of amplifier to 4 speaker but speakers should be small not like a woofer, and you have to connect your sub woofer by using amplifier don't connect direct. connect the output of your car stereo (using 2 RCA) to the 2 RCA inputs of amplifier. If u connect your 4 speakers to your amplifier then your car stereo does not support Left Right channel.
You can also connect your laptop or iPod direct to your amplifier.
Good Luck

I have 2 mtx 12"woofers (8ohms each wired parallel to get to 4ohms) which Kenwood amp would be best to use: kac-7252 or kac-9104d?

The Kenwood KAC-7252 and KAC-9104D are both great amps, but they have different strengths and weaknesses. The KAC-7252 is a 5-channel amp that can output 75 watts per channel at 4 ohms. It also has a built-in crossover and time alignment, which can be helpful for getting the most out of your woofers. The KAC-9104D is a 4-channel amp that can output 100 watts per channel at 4 ohms. It also has a built-in subwoofer output, which can be used to power a separate subwoofer.
If you are looking for an amp that can power all of your speakers, the KAC-7252 is a great option. It is also a good choice if you want an amp with built-in crossover and time alignment. However, if you are looking for an amp that can power a subwoofer, the KAC-9104D is a better choice. It is also a good choice if you want an amp with more power output.
Ultimately, the best amp for you will depend on your specific needs and budget. If you are not sure which amp is right for you, it is always a good idea to consult with a professional car audio installer.
Here is a more detailed comparison of the two amps:
Kenwood KAC-7252
  • 5-channel amp
  • 75 watts per channel at 4 ohms
  • Built-in crossover and time alignment
  • MSRP: $399
Kenwood KAC-9104D
  • 4-channel amp
  • 100 watts per channel at 4 ohms
  • Built-in subwoofer output
  • MSRP: $499
I hope this helps!

4 channel amp to a single dual voice coil sub

Search up Google and enter your amp (name and model #) , and it should show you a pdf manual of that amplifier and show you that , possibly a 3-channel set-up would fit your needs, 4 ohms is usually the lowest minimum for the middle mono channel. Then, you could run the other two L & R channels for your mids and tweets (in stereo) on the remaining two channels; thereby in keeping a single amp to run the entire system. Also, 2 ohms would usually be the normal minimum on same amp for stereo amp output abilities, so that could easily run 5 speakers off one amp. I did it for years on a RF-600a4 with one 12" sub, and two 6 1/2" midbass, and two tweets (usually Morels, or Image Dynamics). Hope that helps...

The subs aren't pushing out bass.

Hello crobins2,

The Kenwood KAC-6202 2-channel is only rated for 60 watts RMS per channel into a 4 ohm load. That just isn't much power for a pair of 12" subs. Even the bridged output is only 200 watts into 4 ohms, still at the low end for a sub, much less to share between a pair of subs.

Assuming that your subs are 4 ohm, you could probably get more sound by driving just one of them on the bridged terminals. But to get the best power with what you have, connect one sub to each channel, set the filter switch to the far right (LPF), set the operation switch to stereo (both channels driven), set the filter frequency (Hz) to 100 or lower, and adjust the input sensitivity as far clockwise as possible without causing distortion.

But, to do the subs justice, you really need at least 300-400 watts to share between them.

Hope this helps.

INSTALLING A CD RECEIVER IN MY CAR

Some decks only give one pair of pre outs. Most 4 channel amps can use just a 2 channel input and feed the other 2 channels by the flip of an input selection switch. I recomend a 4 channel amp if you want to power front and rear speakers and be able to set the gains to blend properly, or you can run all 4 speakers at a 2 ohm stereo on 2 channels and run a sub on the remaining r channels. It just depends on how you want the setup to be nd to how much control you want. Let me know.

Kenwood Receiver connected to my pc

using the Y adapter method (i am guessing you are using just a single stereo mini-jack cable with a mini-jack to RCA adapter) you are only sending a standard Stereo signal to the receiver. Setting 5.1 in windows is just simulating (if using Stereo) or actually mixing 5.1 if you are using analog 5.1 (3 stereo mini-jack cables going to 3 mini-jack to RCA adapters using a 6 channel DVD input). if you have a surround sound audio card i suggest using the Analog 6 channel input by using 3 stereo cables each with their only adapter.

or, if you have a Digital output (Coaxial or TOSlink [optical]) try using that.

good luck.
