My LG vx-8700 vibrates, but no sound works on the phone. The caller can hear me, but I hear nothing (ringing, caller, voicemail, etc.) EXCEPT through the earpiece. I CAN hear all through the earpiece, but nothing without. I have removed/reinstalled battery to reset, but no help. Any suggestions?

a. Make sure your ringer is not in vibrate mode.
1. Press Menu > Settings/Tools > Settings > Sounds > Ringer Type > Voice Calls. 2. Select Caller IDor No Caller ID. (A list of ring type categories will be displayed.) 3. Select a category, and then use your navigation key to scroll through the available ringers. A sample ringer will sound as you highlight each option. 4. Press OK to assign a ringer.
b. Make sure your speaker works. Turn On your speaker phone while talking to someone and see whether you can hear or not.
c.Make sure the increase the volume using keys on side of your phone.

On most phones, the copper contacts down inside the jack work kind of like switches to detect if you have anything plugged in. Other stuff getting in there can depress the contacts, making the phone think something is plugged in.

Get a bright light (flashlight or the like) and shine it down in there. Check for anything unexpected in there, like pocket lint. If there's anything in there, fish it out with some small piece of wire (a paperclip, needle, or the like).

Mine will not ring... It just has a stupid female voice that says call from xxxxxxx call from xxxx and I can't hear the voice when I am operating loud equipment?????

What happened is you probably set it on silent and from the soft keys, you increased the ringer volume. What you want to do is go to main menu => settings => profiles, and from there make sure your ringing volume is set on lowest possible.

i stuck a hairdryer to the moister indicator on the battery made the battery semi hot and the phone works again! i did not ever have this phone wet in any way

switch off the phone ..
remove the battery .. remove sim card
wait for 3 minutes 20 seconds
insert battery again ..
switch it on ..
it should work ,,
