SOURCE: Mintek DTV-263 26 in. LCD Television... Problem:

I suggest you go to their website at: http://www.mintekdigital.com/user_man.asp The DTV263 is not available online, but the DTV323 is there and this should be the 32" version of the same set. Download the manual for the 32" version.

SOURCE: television does not turn on, no stand by light

Hi you will probably find it very difficult to get the parts for that make of telly did the repair shop look inside the telly or did they just turn you away when they see what make it was.
The problem your having could be one of a couple of things.
The first thing to check would be the internal fuse only check this if you have nothing at all coming on not even the standby light.
If the standby lights on then the fault would be in the high voltage part of the board.
I have looked everywhere for the schematics for your telly and have been unable to locate one on line.
The place to start looking for the problem if you are able to look yourself but only do this if you ahev some experiance in this kind of thing else you could damage the telly further.
If the fuse is blown you could change this first but if it is blown you need to find out what has caused it to blow.
You will probably find that it could be the power relay transformer that the power lead goes into inside the telly this is the most likely problem because if this was fine then you would at least have the standby light on as you dont then it probably is this.
It could even be a resistor or transistor around this part that has gone these will also need testing but without schematics you would be guessing so that would be the first thing to do is locate schematics i have looked and not found any yet but will keep looking for you will let you know.
As for parts if you can get the part number off the part thats gone then you might be able to source one using search engine but you will need to get the part number, this would be on schematics also.
If you arenot able to repair this yourself but can get the part number and source the parts yourself then repair shop should fit them for you.
Ill have another look now for schematics and also see if i can source any parts for your make and model ill get back to you soon ok

I understand your problem. Please try my solution and even though it is the same manufacturer but a different model number
but I think it will work. I have posted my solution in this site
and also other fix-it sites but I will post it here for you.

Late last year, my friend had the same problem. She and her friends tried for two months but it was impossible to physically pulled the stuck DVD out from the unit. I was happened to be in the area and she asked me if I can help her retrieved her movie
DVD disc which was stuck inside the MinTek DTV-265-D.

GOOD NEWS! I was successful in getting the
stuck DVD disc out of the unit and back into her hands.

Here is what I did to fix the stuck DVD problem:

I. Requirements

a. Tools:
Phillips Screwdriver (magnetic head will be the best)
Tweezers - Only if you don't have a magnetic Phillips screwdriver
Flashlight

b. Surface:
Large flat padded table because you will need it to lay the TV - flat.

c. People:
I did it by myself but having an extra hands is a plus.

II. Instructions

1. Disconnect power cord, power switch button "off" position, unplug cables and video cables from the unit.
2. Place the TV unit flat on the surface - screen on the bottom - Back cover side facing up
3. Back Stand: Remove the TV bracket stand in the back by unscrewing the 8 screws.
4. Back Cover: Unsecured the back cover panel side of the unit - 9 screws (After unscrewing the screws you might need to use the tweezers to lift and remove the screws.)
5. Back Cover: Carefully lift (unlock) the back cover panel slightly away from the screen unit slowly because it is wired to the circuit board. In other words, you can't remove it completely which it is OK and it is not necessary. This back cover panel removal sounds easy but the cable coaxial connector block it and making it difficulty.
Therefore, you will have to wiggle the cover until it is free and away from the coaxial connector because you will need some clearance space to access the DVD unit.
6. DVD Unit: Unlock the DVD unit by unscrewing 4 (silver) screws.
7. Now you are set and ready to release your stuck DVD.
An extra hands will be nice to have but two hands is a requirements to do the next couple of steps.
8. DVD Unit:
On the front side, locate the two (black triangle-shape or arrow shape) slot holders.
They are in a locked position.
Using your fingers lift and hold both sloth holders in the up position.
(You might have to raise these holders (up and down) several times.)
As you are holding up these slot holders please perform the next step (#9).

9. Power:
Push power button on the unit switch "on"
Plug back the power cord into the unit AC inlet
Unit Ready Light: "red" standby light is on
Remote Control: Press the power/DVD button - st the remote to DVD Unit Ready Light: "Green"

** Important: Step No. 8 and Step No. 9 must be done simultaneously **

10. VIOLA! The DVD disc will automatically slide out of slot from the DVD unit.

Good Luck.

OUT OF BUSINESS

Any High quality RCA type Audio/Video cables will work for your installation, I just researched this for you.

As for your second question copying from DVD to DVD is a tricky situation. DVD's have several forms of copy protection including CSS Macrovision Level 2 and Encryption. Under the fair use act you are legally allowed to make backups of media that you own. I am not going to post the solution here as it may violate site rules but I know how to do it. If you contact me I will tell you how.

I hope you find this information useful, Feel free to contact me with any of your technical needs. I do this for a hobby, My info is always FREE....

On-screen Menu

Actually, it is not a Projection TV Problem. The problem is with a Mintek DTV-265 26" flat screen digital TV (not projection). I have not yet resolved the problem by unplugging the set, pressing the eject button and replugging in the set nor have I had any other suggetions. The manual clearly indicates Mintek DTV-265 26" (not Mintek DTV-263) but I feel they are very similar; however, the manual does not mention losing/restoring the on screen menu.
