Don't know if this is a TV issue or ATT Uverse HD decoder box issue or ? The TV blanks-out for 1 to 5 seconds during commercials (some are informative!) and when a news show goes on-site to a roaving reporter. Weird! It's as if the TV is not receiving the signals correctly (decoder box) or the TV is not receiving or reading them correctly. I'm just speculating. Anyone else have this issue and know how to correct it? Thanks.

Thanks, Jerry. I am also thinking it is the box, but I was just putting the question out there to see if the TV was the issue. I have 2 other HD boxes in the house...oops, the TV just blanked out again...so I can test them out (or just call ATT). The only difference with the boxes is the one in question is the only one in the house with a DVR, so I might not be comparing apples to apples. The other TVs do not have this problem. If I succeed, I'll post the results.

Find a way to try another decoder box. I strongly think its the decoder or how it's set up.

Have you tried calling your TV service provider??? I would start with them.

Samsung HDTV model HLR5067W screen flickers when some commercials play other commercials are ok when viewing. Could this be my HD set top box or a cable?

If the TV works well with your dvd and regular programs there are no issues and the flickers due to commercials can be due to excess signal strength or even poor control from the set top box.
Try with another set top box to confirm as some of them can process noise which can cause this issue.

Panasonic TC P50S2 tv loses sound fairly often. use at&t uverse hd receiver and after rebooting the dvr/receiver, the muting problem is gone for between 1 day and and 2weeks. at&t says the tv...

Use the component connection not the HDMI. Some of the ATT boxes have issues with the HDMI ports. Uverse is only broadcast in 1080i not p so you will not lose any video quality.

I have ATT Uverse. I have a white gear on my tv. Any suggestions?

hi! just a tip hope it would help. if you have a white gear on to your tv it is either updating or probably something is wrong with the cable box. if the gear still present after a couple of mins try to do a hard reset on the cable box by pressin the power button for 10 seconds. if still doesnt work try to unplug and then replug the cable box like after 10 seconds, if still doesnt work reset the gateway but let me remind you that your internet and tv connection may be out for a couple of minutes, if still doesnt work then ill be advisin you to call ATT for further assistance, hope this would help. Goodluck!

Tv goes black for a sec. every so often also has green glow on bottom and 2 red glows on left and top

I have the same problem on my Sony LCD RP. This happens only on HD channels and only during commercials and roving reporters on news reports!!! Do you use ATT Uverse? I do and I think that might be the problem. I posted the same problem just now under rear projection.

Not able to program vizio remote towork with att uverse Cisco box

Hi,
Maybe too late for you but ATT just gave me a code that works with my Vizio plasma. Code is 1343. Even the mute works correctly. They gave me some others to try but I didn't need them. Other codes were 1018, 0030 and 0056.

Att uverse sound quality.

http://www.hdtvsupply.com/gefen-ext-homets-home-theater-scaler.html

The link above is how I fixed mine, because I love the way the functions of Uverse works. Here is the problem HDMI and Optical Dolby 5.1 are delivered in digital packets. The DVR at about 48000. These newer HDMI TV and surround sound receivers are processing the sound packets faster than the DVR can deliver it, and hence, when the TV speakers, (HDMI Source) or surround sound receiver optical source, run out of packets or only get 47999 packets from the DVR instead of 48000, there is a momentary drop out. This is either bad chipset in the DVR, or a sync problem with the software. Dish, Direct TV, and almost all of the cable companies have also had this problem. I had dish, and not only would the sound drop out on the HDMI, but I had to turn off the TV and turn it back on to get sound back. It took Dish about 2 years to fix this. Me I am going to ride it out, because I love the way the Uverse features work, and the honesty of the techs that mad my home visits. They told me that they were working on a software push and shooting for August 2010 to fix this. I am going to write ATT Corporate offices by certified mail RRR, and show them what I had to do to fix their false advertisement, and see if they will credit all or some of the cost of this scaler back to me. In the meantime, if you're not using anything but the TV, set your digital audio on the Uverse DVR off of surround back to stereo, and the dropouts will stop, or buy the scaler. It is an excellent workaround, and it also up converts the DVR's 1080 i signal to clean clear and crisp 1080 p, something ATT will never do. It will also convert the component stereo out into dolby digital sound to the HDMI and optical ins on your TV and receiver. THAT IS THE ONLY SOLUTION I HAVE.

Samsung DLP 56' TV turns itself off when I initially turn it own. (I turn it on, then it shuts off for approximately 5-10 seconds and turns back on. Sometimes it does it a couple of times before it stays...

The problem is with the ATT UVERSE HDTV BOX and not the Samsung DLP TV. There is an inherent problem with the ATT UVERSE HDTV Box when using a HDMI cable. This was verified by the ATT UVERSE Technician.

Thanks,
