1. I hope you checked the user manual for your DVD player to determine if your problem is in the list of troubleshooting issues.
2. Check if the disk you put into the DVD player is compatible to play in your machine. Did you try to play a Blu-Ray disk in the DVD player? If so, trying to play a non-compatible disk will result in in the No Disk or Error message.
3. Make sure the compatible disk is inserted into the player tray with the readable side of the disk facing downward.
If you are using the built-in DVD tray, press TV (in case you have a Cable Set-top box). Then press Input and navigate with the up/down keys to the line labeled DVD. Then press OK. Finally press play on the Polaroid TDA-03211C remote or on the side of the TV. The remote play button is in the center of the row below the row with skip reverse and skip forward buttons.
If you are using a different DVD player, press the input button and then the up/down arrows to get to the input for your DVD player. Then press the DVD button to control the DVD player.
If you are using a universal remote control, then you may need to program it to the TV and the DVD player separately. (Some universal remotes may only support the TV functions of this TV.) Make sure that your universal remote has an input button that works. You may need to try multiple codes for Polaroid TVs.
I hope this helps.
Cindy Wells (note: the DVD must be correctly installed so that the printed side (label) is facing the front of the TV. If you do not get a response, try the disc in another DVD player. The DVD player laser tracking can fail without warning. If the disc plays in other units, this may be the problem.)
Unable to Read the Disc" Error, or Disc Not Recognized (Will Not Play Game Discs)
Situation:
The Wii console will not play game discs (disc is not recognized)
System displays either error message "Unable to read disc" or "Disc could not be read"
Important!
If this problem happens very infrequently, it is normal and does not indicate a problem. A Wii Lens Cleaning Kit can be purchased to help keep the lens clean and prevent the situation from worsening over time.
Wii Game Discs are region locked, and can only be played on hardware from the same country where the game was released. (A European game cannot be played on a North American system, for example.)
What To Do:
The Wii console is only compatible with Wii and GameCube discs. It is not compatible with DVDs or discs made for other home consoles. Verify that the disc you are inserting is compatible with the Wii system.
An error message may display if the disc is ejected during play. Return to the HOME Menu before changing discs.
Verify that the console is placed correctly.
If the Wii console is lying flat, the game disc slot should be above all three buttons and the SD Card slot.
If the Wii console is standing vertically, the power button should be on the top and the console should be in the stand. Note: Only Wii consoles with model number RVL-001 are intended to be placed vertically. (Learn more)
Verify that the disc is being inserted properly.
If the console is placed horizontally, the disc label will face upwards.
If the console is placed vertically, the disc label will face to the right.
Check the non-printed side of the game disc for dirt or severe damage (such as scratches or cracks).
If the disc is dirty, try cleaning the game disc. (How to)
If the disc is damaged or scratched, it will need to be replaced. Please click here for replacement options.
If the problem occurs with only one game disc, there may be a problem specific to that game. Click here to check our list of specific game issues.
Make sure only licensed accessories are being used. Unlicensed products do not undergo Nintendo's testing and evaluation process. They may not work at all with our game systems, and they may have compatibility problems with certain games or accessories.
It all depends on the region coding of your player and the code on each disc.
For example, if the DVD region code is 1, and the player is region 4, the disc will not be compatible. The same can be said of region 4 discs in a player specifically intended as a region 1.
Region-free discs (or '0') should work with this player. It sounds like a restriction from region coding between the discs and the player. There isn't much you can do except use discs marked 'region 0' or 'ALL' (playable worldwide), or those which match the code on your player. Check your disc's cover for region code information (if any).
I do not recommend region hacks as these may damage your player.
I haven't heard of Alligator Dundee, but after some reading up on it, it appears to be a parody of Crocodile Dundee, which was more popular.
some dvd players (outdated)..will not play these new dvd (recorded or pre-recorded dvd)...if you are recording dvd and wish to play on another dvd player (dvd player must be at least 2009)...same thing happen with my toshiba recorder...my jvc player works its (2008), but my sony dvd (2004) did not play any of the recorded dvds (only the store brought).....suggestion buy a not expensive dvd player (you just need it to play all that other features will push the price range up)
Is the movie a copy or an original, some copies do not work in all machines, some will accept a dvd-R but will not work with a dvd+R except if you have a brand new unit, they usually accept most discs, the older dvd players are not compatable with all blank dvd's...Steve
I found this on the PROSCAN website under customer support manuals. The website is www.oncorpus.com.I hope this information helps you with your problem. IMPORTANT THE LABEL SIDE OF THE DVD MUST FACE THE BACK SIDE OF THE TELEVISION 1. Press the ‘INPUT’ button to select ‘DVD’ mode, if no disc is inserted yet, the display shows ‘No Disc’. 2.Insert a DVD with the printed side facing towards the rear of the TV/DVD Player (see below) 3.The TV will first display ‘Loading’, then change to ‘DVD-video’. Most DVDs will show some preliminary information then stop at a main menu screen. 4. Press PLAY/PAUSE to play it directly. Or press the DVD-MENU button to access the disc menu during playback. 5.Use the direction button on the remote control to select the desired option. Press ENTER to select the option or press the ► button. Playback will now commence. 6.After playback, press the EJECT button on remote control or EJECT button on TV/DVD to remove the disc. Note: No function‘’ will sometimes appear on the screen after a button is pressed. This indicates that the function is not supported at the current time.
