Question about RCA R52WM24 52" HDTV Projection Television
I recently got a free big screen tv from a neighbor, it's a older model Sears television. it's a Mag/Sears ptv350 projection TV chassis 626.54521950. the sound on it is amazing, but the picture is horrible! you can see the background and the profile of the people but it's hard to make out much else. the picture is so blurry! i cleaned the screen and had the projectors cleaned, and that made it a little better, but is there anything else i can do to make it actually visible, or is it just a lost cause? also, there is a pink circle in the middle of the picture, which i figured meant the convergence was off, but fixing that didnt solve the problem.. please help!
It sounds like the fluid in the crt lens assembly has become contaminated..you can look into the crt lens (with it off) and it will probably look milky. you need to drain the fluid and clean the inside of the lens with denatured alcohol. if it wont clean the the lens needs to be removed, the crt cleaned, and the unit re-assembled and re-filled. this is not the easiest task and you might want to find a local tech to do the job..the fluid is about $30 a bottle and you will need 2-3 bottles. tech labor depends on the area

You might have to focus the actual projectors. or, you need new ones because they are worn with age.

You need to reset the convergence. That should fix it if nothing is seriously wrong.
