This is usually because the water filter on the supply line needs replacing.
If it has not been replaced within 6 months, then this will probably cure it.

Refrigerator water dispenser trickling water

The mechanical part of your water valve is not closing. replace the water valve, this should solve the problem. you may want to add an inline water filter before the valve, will improve ice quality and prolong the life of your new valve

Water dispensed with good flow. model # KBFA20ERBL01 , I replaced water filter with recommended #4396395. Now water trickles at very low flow rate. What can I do? Thanks, Jess

Any time that you replace the water filter you need to run about 2 gallons through the dispenser. The new filter is full of air not water, you just need to flush the air out of the system. The trickle is water siphoning through because the air is still in the system.

Purchased a GE Profile bottom freezer April 08. Has indoor water dispenser. Changed the water filter 60 days ago. Since then the amount of cold water dispensed has slowly decreased to a trickle. There...

Disconnect the water line where it comes out of the water inlet valve and see how the flow is when you try the dispenser. Disconntct the water line at the bottom of the freezer door where it goes into the door. If it flows good here it may be freezing in the door. Open the door till it thaws.
If it's good at the inlet valve and slow at the door, some models have a way to put a plug in and bypass the filter.

Water dispenser is just a trickle

the biggest culprit for slow water dispensing aside from the filter is the water supply its self. check to make sure the water line isnt kinked behind the refrig, if thats ok then disconnect the water line from the refrig and run water into a bucket and observe your water flow. good water pressure would basicly fill a 2 gallon bucket in less than a minute. much less than that can cause problems. hope that helps peyton
