Will let you know if that fixes it!

So, the new battery, in and working hurrah!

Three days later, small amount of usage, no longer coming on again... Wondering if it could be the charger?

  • Anonymous Aug 16, 2009

Nah, the charger is ok. I plugged the DS into the car charger and it was the same, the light comes on...

So, I turned it on yesterday and it came on, asked me to reset everything and then I turned it off thinking it has a dodgy connection somewhere. This morning, it wont turn on again. The light comes up green, then it switches itself off.

    Bloody thing.........

This is so easy. its either the fuses are getting old, or the bettery isnt holding a charge anymore. get a new battery for 2 bucks on ebay or new fuses for 6 bucks. u need tools for 75 cent in dealextreme also.

You could have faulty battery pack and when those completely go, the power supply charger won't help any.

If they are not way expensive I would try that. If they are half or over the price of DS then I would just get a new or refurbished one. Ebay is always good.

sounds good. Hope it works out good.

Ok. Well, Try replacing the charger. You can probably get your money back for the battery. If not new charger and battery is a better price to pay then new DS

Ds lite charge, but green lite will not come on

You have damaged the L2 fuse just below the power button. It is vary delicate and easy to knock of off its placement despite being soldered in.

Double check this fuse to make sure it is still in place and soldered to the contacts on both sides of the fuse.

Nintendo ds wont charge

cheekiemunke,

First of all, your DS Lite is charging both ways.....with power on and without power on.
You have for almost 99% sure a blown fuse F2 on the systemboard.
If you can solder you can try to replace it with a new one but be adviced, it is tricky if you don't have the skills with soldering SMD components and it can send your DS lite to the trash.
So my advice is find someone that repair DS Lites or order a fuse on eBay and try it yourself.

Regards

John
