Stihl BG56 We are having trouble with trying to start our leaf blower.

It has had some incorrect fuel put in it we think? It tries to start and then cuts out on it. Is there a fuel sieve that we can clean out, as this has happened before too?

The best way i have found it to take the plug out and clean it. take the carburetor off and clean it with carburetor cleaner and blow the fuel line and filter out with air, clean out the fuel tank. put it back together and it should run like new. if you are having that many problems sometimes it is best just to clean the whole system. be sure the fuel can is labeled and be sure no water gets in the can.

SOURCE: car was starting perfect until wife tried to start

Hi Tony, If the car ran out of fuel the fuel rail will be empty. Pressurized fuel must fill the rail before injection is possible. The pressure of the fuel in the rail should be somewhere around three point eight bar. Crank the vehicle for about forty seconds at a time and then allow the starter to cool. Repeat until the car starts. A better method is to identify the fuel pump relay, remove it and bridge the switching connections, but that can be dangerous unless you have a knowledge of electrical circuits. Regards John

Gas and oil mixed in 4 cycle backpack leaf blower

If it is a 4 cycle blower, you do not mix oil with the fuel....It takes straight Gas. there is an oil cap to put engine oil in crankcase, this only usually takes 2,3,4 oz. of oil. Sounds like your Spark Plug probably fouled out from having oil mixed in your gas. I would recomend changing your Spark Plug and put some Fresh GAS only in the blower, dump the old stuff out !!! You should be on your way Blowing in No Time !
